Fisch 🐟 [ROAMING FISH]

1. Bait

Bait is equipped via the Equipment Bag before fishing. It is not required but strongly recommended. Bait is consumed on use, unless the player fails the shaking phase or the minigame (in which case it is returned). Bait is also consumed when placing Crab Cages; unreturned empty cages return the bait.

1.1 Bait Stats

StatEffect
Universal LuckIncreases chance of any rare fish on that cast. Works like rod Luck but only for bait-assisted casts.
Preferred LuckMultiplies the base spawn chance of fish that prefer this specific bait. Example: Truffle Worm has 300% Preferred Luck; a Nessie with 1% base chance becomes 3% when using it.
Lure SpeedModifies how quickly the fish is lured in (positive = faster, negative = slower).
ResilienceModifies fish movement intensity in the minigame (positive = calmer fish).
DisturbanceBoosts spawning frequency of certain Localized Events.
AbilityUnique passive effect, similar to rod passives (e.g., chance to apply a specific mutation).

1.2 Bait Mechanics

  • Each fish that prefers a specific bait has its spawn chance multiplied by the bait's Preferred Luck value.
  • Baits can have both boosts and trade-offs. For example, Squid boosts Preferred and Universal Luck but reduces Lure Speed; Truffle Worm and Weird Algae drastically boost luck but lower lure speed.
  • Some baits have no favoring fish despite having a Preferred Luck stat.

1.3 Obtaining Bait

  • Bait Crates: Primary and most reliable method. Common Bait Crates are the most cost-efficient. Avoid Quality Bait Crates (overpriced).
  • Crates (General): All crate types except Carbon Crates and Fish Barrels may yield bait.
  • Volcanic Geodes and Coral Geodes: Useful for obtaining Truffle Worms, Coal, and other rare bait.
  • Magnet Rod: Can fish for crates that contain bait (slow, not recommended for efficiency).
  • AFK Rewards (added in later update): Some baits can now be obtained passively.
  • Angler Quest completions: Minimum quest levels unlock certain bait types.

1. Boats

Boats are the primary means of traversing the ocean between islands. Players must be at least Level 5 to purchase and spawn boats. Most boats have passenger seats for other players.

1.1 Boat Stats

  • Speed: Maximum studs per second (S/ps). Higher = faster travel.
  • Acceleration: How quickly the boat reaches top speed. Higher = snappier starts.
  • Steering: Turn radius in degrees. Higher = sharper turns.
  • Seats: Number of passengers the boat can carry.

1. Enchanting

Enchanting applies a permanent buff to a Fishing Rod via an Enchant Relic. Enchantments are displayed as a colored prefix on the rod's name and are visible in the inventory and Equipment Bag.

1.1 How to Enchant

  1. Obtain an Enchant Relic (fishing drop, Merlin at Sunstone Island for C$11,000, or from the Rod of the Depths ghost passive).
  2. Travel to the Keeper's Altar (beneath the Statue of Sovereignty; use the elevator inside the cave at night, accessible via Cole).
  3. Interact with the Altar to apply a random enchantment to your currently equipped rod.
  4. Multiple players can enchant simultaneously at the same altar.

Save Enchant Relics and Exalted Relics for strong rods β€” don't waste them on early rods.

1.2 Exalted Relics

  • Drop at 1/2000 chance anywhere (1/500 with Rod of the Exalted One).
  • Apply special Exalted Enchantments β€” more powerful versions of regular enchantments.
  • Best farmed by fishing in The Depths.

1.3 Cosmic Relics

  • Very rare drops.
  • Enable the Wise enchantment: +1.2Γ— XP multiplier.

1.4 Relic Catch Rates Summary

  • No fixed schedule or order.

1. Fishing Mechanics

1.1 Casting

Holding Left Click (PC), R2 (PlayStation), or tapping/holding (Mobile) with the Fishing Rod equipped opens the cast meter. Releasing sends the bobber. The slider position determines how far the cast goes. A green indicator means a perfect cast, though cast timing does not affect luck or lure speed β€” only distance.

1.2 Shaking (Luring Phase)

After casting, Shake buttons appear on screen. Each shake reduces lure wait time by approximately 0.5–1.5 seconds. Shaking is entirely optional but speeds up farming significantly. Certain items can affect the size of the shake button.

1.3 Reeling Minigame

Once a fish is lured (indicated by a "!" and a sound), the reeling minigame begins:

  • A white bar (the control bar) must stay around the fish indicator to fill the progress bar.
  • Left Click / Space / Tap moves the white bar right; releasing moves it left.
  • The minigame starts in a locked state for 1.2 seconds (or until progress reaches 20%).
  • Progress is gained/lost at approximately 12% per second based on fish position.
  • If progress reaches zero, the minigame is lost and the bait is not consumed (only if the fish was never lured).
  • If the fish stays inside the bar for the entire minigame, the player earns a Perfect Catch: +C$10 and +50% XP for that catch.

1.4 Fish Rarity & Value

Fish have different rarities that correspond to difficulty and sell value. Rarity tiers include Common, Uncommon, Rare, Legendary, Mythic, Exotic, and Limited.

1.5 Catch Streak

Players build a catch streak by catching fish (excluding Crates, Crab Cages, and rod passive catches) without snapping their reel. After 10 consecutive catches, the streak is displayed above the player's head and broadcasted in chat when lost.

1.6 Perfect Catch Mechanics

  • Perfect Catches grant 1.5Γ— XP and C$10 bonus per catch.
  • The progress bar formula: T(p) = 1.2 + 6.8/(1+(p/100)) seconds to complete, where p is the progress speed modifier.
  • Some fish are Progress-Locked: their progress speed cannot be modified by most outside sources.

1.7 Crab Cages

  • Cost: C$45 each.
  • Placed on solid ground adjacent to water. Partially submerged surfaces also work.
  • Have different loot tables from regular fishing.
  • Some fish (e.g., Sea Mine) can only be caught via Crab Cage.
  • Bait is consumed when placing a Crab Cage; unreturned cages with no catch return the bait.
  • Crab Cage loot is affected by Luck and Lure Speed stats.

1.8 Appraisal

  • Cost: C$450 per appraisal (Appraiser NPC).
  • Appraisal randomly changes the fish's weight and has a chance to apply a random mutation.
  • Removes any existing mutation from the fish.
  • Best used on expensive Mythic fish where the weight/mutation upgrade justifies the risk.
  • The Appraiser's Luck gamepass increases the chance of obtaining mutations through appraisal.
  • Fish given a mutation through appraisal do not grant Moonlit stacks (event-specific mechanic).

1.9 Underwater Exploration

  • Basic Diving Gear (C$3,000): Purchased at Moosewood Docks (370, 135, 250). Increases air capacity while swimming.
  • Advanced Diving Gear (C$15,000): Available at the Desolate Deep entrance buoy, Desolate Deep merchant, and Atlantis merchant. Extends air capacity by up to 3 minutes.
  • Abyssal Tonic: Temporarily grants immunity to Pressure (needed for Tidefall area).

Currency and rod power from the First Sea do not transfer β€” it feels like starting a new character. Unlocked by completing a quest at Level 200. Most Second Sea Enchant Altars were later merged with the First Sea altar.

1. Money Farming & Leveling

1.1 Currency (C$)

Earned primarily by selling fish to Merchants. Additional sources include:

  • Opening Crates, Geodes, and other consumables.
  • Perfect Catch bonus: +C$10 per perfect catch.
  • Completing Angler Quests.
  • Redeeming active Codes.

1.2 Best Farming Spots by Stage

Early Game:

  • Forsaken Shores Pond: Captain's Goldfish farming is highly reliable and efficient for early C$.
  • Roslit Bay Coral Reef: Old standby; still functional for early players.

Mid Game:

  • Forsaken Shores Pond: Captain's Goldfish remains one of the most reliable money methods.
  • Roslit Bay Corals (with Nocturnal Rod): Target Manta Rays using Shrimp bait; excellent C$.
  • The Depths: Best overall money location. Insane C$ and Enchant Relics if you can access it.

Late Game:

  • Forsaken Shores Pond: Still strong even at end game.
  • The Depths: Far and away the best farming area. Enchant Relics alone generate significant wealth.
  • Grand Reef: Great for leveling during Aurora Borealis (Coral Emperor and Grand Reef Guardian = massive XP per catch; level up every 2–3 catches with server/totem boosts).

Very Late Game (Level 500+):

  • Challenger's Deep: Best leveling spot after Level 500, particularly with the Ethereal Prism Rod.
  • Everturn Forest / Forsaken Shores Pond during Aurora Borealis: Recommended farming for multiple progression milestones (up to Level 1000+) with high-tier rods (Luminescent Oath, Ruinous Oath, etc.).
  • Coral Bastion: Alternative to Everturn Forest for Fallen Rod farming.

1.3 XP Tips

  • Perfect Catches: Always aim for perfect catches to earn 1.5Γ— XP per fish.
  • Clever Enchant: Adds a significant XP multiplier to any rod.
  • Wise Enchant (via Cosmic Relic): 1.2Γ— XP multiplier on top of other bonuses.
  • Pinion's Aria: Use alongside main farming rod for additional XP.
  • Challenger's Rod + Clever: Current best method for reaching max level.
  • Visiting new locations for the first time gives approximately 300 XP each (main locations only, not sub-locations).

1. Mutations

Mutations modify the sell value of a fish and may alter its appearance. A fish can have only one mutation at a time. Mutations with higher value multipliers take priority over lower ones (unless the total mutation chance exceeds 100%, in which case the lowest-multiplier mutations are set to 0%).

1.1 How Mutations Are Applied

  • Natural catch: Fish have a base chance to be caught with a mutation.
  • Appraisal: The Appraiser can apply a random mutation (costs C$450; removes any existing mutation).
  • Rod passives: Many rods grant a specific mutation chance.
  • Events: Certain events (e.g., Moonlit Mirage, Admin Events) apply exclusive mutations.
  • Enchantments: Some enchantments add mutation or attribute chances.

Relics can be caught with a mutation but it has no effect when enchanting.

1.2 Mutation Types

Value Mutations (increase sell price):

  • Fungal β€” 4Γ— value (Fungal Rod passive; 30% chance)
  • Frozen β€” 1.3Γ— value (Arctic Rod passive)
  • Atlantean β€” 3Γ— value (Trident Rod passive; 30% chance)
  • Sunken β€” 8.25Γ— value (Sunken Rod passive; 10% chance)

  • Chaotic β€” obtained via Chaotic Enchantment
  • Lunar β€” +5% Fish Weight per stack for the rest of the Moonlit Mirage event (up to +25% / 5 stacks); 0.1% chance to catch Lunar Threads during a Moonlit Mirage.

Size Attributes (do not affect sell value; indicate weight deviation):

  • Tiny β€” fish weight is notably below its base weight range.
  • Giant β€” fish weight is notably above its base weight range.
  • Size attributes can be lost through appraisal if the weight shifts back to standard range.

Rarity Attributes:

  • Shiny, Sparkling, Glitched β€” special visual mutations. Methods to increase their chances involve specific rods, enchantments, and conditions.

1.3 For Pattern-Based Mutations

For mutations that generate patterns (e.g., Mosaic), the pattern is determined by the weight of the fish at the time of the mutation.

1.4 Appraiser's Luck Gamepass

Increases the chance of obtaining mutations through the Appraisal system.

1. Game Overview

Fisch is an open-world Roblox adventure and exploration fishing game. Players explore a large map of islands and oceans, catching fish, completing quests, upgrading equipment, and uncovering secrets. The core loop involves fishing to earn in-game currency (C$), which is used to buy better rods, boats, and items that unlock access to new areas and rarer fish.

The game features:

  • A large interconnected world with multiple islands, oceans, underwater zones, and secret areas.
  • A full progression system across rods, boats, levels, and the Bestiary.
  • Mutations, enchantments, and weather events that affect fishing outcomes.
  • A Second Sea region (added later, requiring level 200 to unlock).

1. Progression Walkthrough

The following is the recommended step-by-step progression path.

1.1 First Sea β€” Early Game

  1. Tutorial: Fish at Moosewood Pond using the Flimsy Rod. Complete tutorial quests to unlock the Rowboat.
  2. Level 5: Purchase a Rowboat (C$700) from the Moosewood Shipwright.
  3. Buy GPS (C$100) from the chair near the Moosewood pond for navigation.
  4. Farm fish at Moosewood to reach C$2,000, then buy the Carbon Rod from the Moosewood Merchant.
  5. Travel to Mushgrove Swamp and complete Agaric's quest (catch an Alligator at 2665, 130, βˆ’710) to get the Fungal Rod.
  6. Fish at Moosewood using the Fungal Rod until reaching Level 5 (or already done from the boat unlock step). The wiki recommends fishing to Level 5 at Moosewood first.
  7. Travel to Roslit Bay β€” the second major fishing location; better fish and quests available.
  8. Save Enchant Relics and Exalted Relics for stronger rods.

1.2 First Sea β€” Mid Game

  1. Buy the Steady Rod from the Roslit Bay Blacksmith. Farm in the Deep Ocean and Forsaken Shores Pond (Captain's Goldfish).
  2. Get the Nocturnal Rod from Vertigo (dive into a whirlpool).
  3. Farm until reaching C$150,000 β†’ Buy the Trident Rod at Trident's Temple.
  4. Farm Captain's Goldfish or Roslit Coral Area using Trident Rod with bait (Shrimp for Manta Rays).
  5. Use Enchant/Exalted Relics to enchant the Midas Rod (from Traveling Merchant, ~C$55,000) with Mystical or Divine.
  6. Farm at Forsaken Shores Pond to build toward C$750,000.
  7. Complete the Deep Diver's quest (3221, 129, 896), use Abyssal Tonic, enter Tidefall, and buy the Fallen Rod from the Drowned Appraiser. Enchant with Abyssal.

1. Fishing Rod Stats

All rods have 8 core stats (plus a "Fish Caught" tracker):

StatDescription
Lure SpeedRate at which a fish is lured in. Higher = less time before the minigame. Capped at 99 (anything above has no effect). Formula: T = Tbase Γ— (1 βˆ’ Ls/100)
LuckIncreases chance of catching high-rarity fish. Stacks with pool bonuses (Lucky Pool, Rainbow, Aurora Borealis).
ControlDetermines the width of the white bar in the minigame. Default is 30% of UI width. Max theoretical value: +0.7 (full bar). Highest achievable: Cinder Block Rod + Herculean enchant + Snail bait = 147.5% bar.
ResilienceDetermines how vigorously the fish moves in the minigame. Higher = calmer fish. Minimum clamped at 0.2. Highest: Silly Fun Happy Rod + Singularity bait + Mystical enchant = infinite. Lowest: Onirifalx (βˆ’infinite).
Max KgMaximum weight of fish the rod can catch. If a fish's minimum weight exceeds Max Kg, it cannot be caught ("This rod can't catch any fish in this area!"). Some rods have infinite Max Kg.
DurabilityDetermines what type of fishing pool the rod can be used in. β‰₯100 required for Lava pools; β‰₯150 for Noxious Fluid pools.
Progress SpeedAffects how quickly the progress bar fills during reeling.
Line DistanceHow far the bobber can be cast.

1.1 Passives

Many rods (especially mid-to-high tier) have passive abilities that:

  • Boost catch rate for specific fish types.
  • Grant a chance for special mutations on catches.
  • Trigger extra catches automatically.
  • Apply special effects (e.g., Stab, buff activations).

Passives are a major factor in evaluating rod quality β€” a rod with modest base stats but a powerful passive may outperform a rod with high stats and no passive.

1. Pro Tips

  • Always use bait: Even a basic bait provides meaningful stat boosts. Match bait to the fish you're targeting (preferred bait for specific fish).
  • Use the Fishing Minigame optimally: Quickly tap and adjust speed based on the fish indicator position. Aim for Perfect Catches for 1.5Γ— XP.
  • Check the Shake phase: Shake buttons speed up luring. Don't skip them when farming fast.
  • Enchanting priority: Save Enchant/Exalted Relics for high-tier rods (Trident Rod and beyond). Never enchant early rods.
  • Weather and time matter: Fish have preferred seasons/times/weather. Missing the window = 90% spawn rate penalty. Use Totems to control conditions.
  • The Depths is king: Once accessible, The Depths is the single best location for money, XP, and Enchant Relic farming.
  • Aurora Borealis is essential late game: Dramatically increases rare catches. Grand Reef during Aurora Borealis = fastest leveling in mid-game.
  • Use the Fish Radar: Equip it to see abundance spots for current fish. Abundance areas = dramatically faster catch rates.
  • Catch Streak is worth maintaining: Keep your streak alive for quality-of-life benefits.
  • Appraise wisely: Only appraise expensive Mythic fish β€” you lose the existing mutation. The Appraiser's Luck gamepass is worth it if you appraise frequently.
  • Crab Cages are a side activity: Useful for specific fish not catchable via rod (e.g., Sea Mine). Use on solid ground near water.
  • First-time location bonuses: Visiting a new main location for the first time awards ~300 XP. Prioritize exploring early.
  • Avoid overpriced items: Quality Bait Crates are overpriced. Stick to Common Bait Crates for regular bait.
  • Rod/Bait synergy: Match bait to your rod's weaknesses. If your rod has low Resilience, use resilience-boosting bait. If you need Luck, use Universal Luck bait.
  • Stab mechanics: Stab effects from rods (Trident, Cerulean Fang), enchantments (Chaotic, Piercing, Rage), or bait (Stag Beetle) cancel fish movement during the minigame. Pair stabbing enchants with low-resilience rods for maximum efficiency.
  • Auto Sell setup: Lock any fish you want to keep with Mouse 2 before mass-selling. Use Auto Sell with discretion for each rarity tier.
  • Bestiary completion: Check the Fish page on fischipedia.org for optimal Time, Weather, Season, Bait, and Location for every fish.

1. Weather, Time & Seasons

1.1 Day/Night Cycle

  • A full day lasts approximately 25 real-life minutes (12.5 min day + 12.5 min night).
  • One real-life second = one in-game minute.
  • View the current time by hovering over the time-of-day indicator (bottom right of screen).
  • A Sundial Totem can speed up the celestial cycle.
  • Fish outside their preferred time have a 90% spawn rate reduction (can be negated by the Nocturnal Rod passive).

1.2 Seasons

  • Each season lasts 576 real-life minutes (~9.6 hours per season).
  • Seasons are universal across all servers.
  • During a fish's preferred season, spawn rate is increased by +25%.
  • During a non-preferred season, spawn rate is reduced by βˆ’15% (even if no preference).
  • Seasons Rod further boosts preferred-season fish by an additional +40% multiplicative (total: +75% boost).

Current season cycle (as of June 2026): Spring is current.

1.3 Weather

  • During a fish's preferred weather, spawn rate is increased by +35%.
  • Weather conditions (except Frost Moon) are naturally occurring β€” randomly selected at the start of each weather window.
  • Totems can directly modify weather or accelerate time. Totems that modify weather are blocked if the weather in their group is already protected by another effect.

1.4 Weather Conditions & Events

Condition / EventNotes
FoggyTriggered naturally or by Smokescreen Totem.
WindyTriggered naturally or by Windset Totem.
Frost MoonThe only non-natural weather condition; must be manually activated.
Aurora BorealisIncreases Luck; one of the best fishing conditions for rare/high-value fish. Best farmed at Grand Reef, Everturn Forest, Forsaken Shores Pond, or Coral Bastion.
RainbowIncreases Luck for all players on the server.
Lucky PoolA pool-specific buff; also increases Luck.
Moonlit MirageSpawns at nighttime via Disturbance; max Risk 8,000. Caught fish have a chance for Lunar mutation (+5% Fish Weight per stack, max +25%). Lunar Threads can be caught at 0.1% chance. Effect only triggered from fishing rod catches (not appraisal or crab cages).
Shark HuntSpecial event; sharks spawn in the ocean. Wormhole Enchantment can trigger Shark Hunts without waiting for the event. Fish Radar shows radar spots for Shark Hunts without needing a toggle (post-update).
Sunken ChestsEvent where Sunken Chests spawn; chance to obtain the Auric Rod and other rare items.
Admin EventsTemporary, manually summoned by a Fisch Administrator. Affect all servers. Feature unique environment colours, regionless Special fish, and exclusive mutations. Players can catch fish beyond their rod's Max Kg during Admin Events.

1.5 Totems

Totems are consumable, one-time-use items that alter weather, time, or trigger an event on the server. A new totem must be purchased for each use.
