Beginner Guide

1. Game Overview

Fish It is a Roblox open-world fishing simulator/RPG developed by Fish Atelier. It has accumulated over 4.5 billion visits and 1.2 million favorites. The game features more than 415 unique fish species (other sources note 300+, with the fandom wiki listing 415 as the current count) spread across multiple islands and hidden underwater zones. Players fish, sell catches for coins, upgrade equipment, and pursue increasingly rare fish to complete their Fish Index.

Key features include:

  • A wide variety of Fishing Rods, Bobbers (Bait), and Boats
  • Enchanting system for permanent rod buffs
  • Mutations that modify fish appearance and sell price
  • Potions for temporary stat boosts
  • A Fish Index (collection tracker)
  • Quests given by NPCs throughout the islands
  • A dynamic weather system that affects fish spawning
  • Admin Events and limited-time event islands
  • Secret underwater locations requiring special gear
  • Auto-fishing feature available after leveling

The game is developed and updated primarily on Sundays. The official Discord is at: https://discord.com/invite/3drcrjAru3

Developers include: Wildes, Talon, The_Emblaze, Req, Judelle, Sebas, OutOfOrderFoxy, Kyn, C4621R, Mac, ScriptingIntoTerror, masonbuk, h_waj, HFakeH, Mitch.

2. Getting Started / First Steps

When you first load into Fish It, you spawn on Fisherman Island (also called Stingray Shores), the starter island. An NPC immediately gives you your first quest: catch any two fish.

Steps to get started:

  1. Equip your fishing rod from the toolbar at the bottom of the screen.
  2. Walk toward the pier marked with a green arrow.
  3. Hold down the left mouse button to cast your line and fill the Luck Meter.
  4. Aim for the "Perfect" or "Amazing" zones on the luck meter โ€” these significantly increase chances of rarer fish.
  5. Reel in your catch once the meter is set.
  6. After completing the first quest, go to the shop and sell your catch.
  7. Use coins to buy better rods and bobbers immediately.

Inventory Management: Always keep your most valuable fish and sell the rest. Use the "Favorite" feature to prevent accidental sales of rare catches. Inventory is limited, so sell regularly at the merchant before leaving an island.

Quest Progression: Quests are found on the right side of the screen. Complete them first to earn coins and XP. Do not overspend time on side quests, but keep focused on the main progression quests.

Pro Tips for Beginners:

  • Always aim for "Perfect" or "Amazing" on the luck meter โ€” even on the starter island, this can yield Rare or Epic fish.
  • Upgrade your bobber before your rod when possible โ€” bobbers directly affect rarity chances.
  • Visit new islands as soon as you can afford a boat โ€” each has exclusive species.
  • Sell fish regularly. Holding onto fish earns nothing.
  • Redeem available codes immediately for a head start on coins.
  • Use a Radar (purchasable from the Gear Store on Fisherman Island) to preview fish spawns and find artifacts.

3. Core Gameplay Systems

Luck Meter

The luck meter is the heart of the fishing mechanic. When casting, you hold the mouse button and a meter fills. The zones from worst to best affect fish rarity:

  • Landing in "Perfect" or "Amazing" zones dramatically increases your chances of pulling rare fish.
  • The meter's effectiveness is also influenced by your rod's Luck stat and the bobber equipped.

Quests

Quests are assigned by NPCs throughout the islands. They pay out coin rewards and grant XP that levels up your character. Prioritize completing quests every session.

The Fish Index

The Index is your personal collection log. It tracks every species you've caught, their rarity class, and the island where you found them. Filling out the Index is a major long-term goal. You can view the index from the top of the screen.

XP & Leveling

XP is earned by catching fish. The more fish you catch, the more XP you gain. XP is based primarily on volume (number of catches), not on the quality of fish. Higher levels unlock access to better boats, locations, and content.

Auto-Fishing

Unlocked after reaching a certain level. This feature lets the AI take over fishing automatically, enabling AFK play. Use the Infinite Bobber for AFK sessions โ€” consumable baits will be wasted on auto-fishing.

Radar

A utility item purchasable from the Gear Store on Fisherman Island. It displays fish spawn locations in the current area and shows which fish types are available nearby. Also useful for locating artifacts and levers needed for quests.

Traveling Merchant

An NPC that occasionally visits islands (primarily Fisherman Island) and sells exclusive high-tier baits and rods not otherwise available in regular shops. Check regularly for rare items like Singularity Bait and Hazmat Rod.

Blackboard / Admin Events

A Blackboard is located on the main dock of Fisherman Island. Players can interact with it to sign up for upcoming Admin Events. During Admin Events, global server-side buffs increase chances of catching Mythic or Secret Fish.

Boats Guide

1. Boats

Boats are required to travel between islands and reach the Open Ocean. They are purchased from the NPC near the pier on Fisherman Island. There are 11 boat types ranging from Common to Exclusive in quality.

Key boats:

  • Small Boat: ~300 coins โ€” basic mobility, gets you to nearby islands.
  • Jetski: Mid-tier, faster travel; needed for Kohana and Lost Isle.
  • Cruiser Boat: 250,000 coins โ€” the best standard vessel; significantly faster island rotation.

Tip: Focus on completing quests and selling higher-rarity fish to save up for boat upgrades. Moving from a basic boat to a mid-tier vessel noticeably speeds up your island rotation.

Bobbers and Bait Guide

1. Bobbers / Bait โ€“ Full List & Stats

In Fish It, "Bobbers" and "Bait" mean the same thing. Bobbers directly affect what fish you attract and can boost Luck, Mutation Chance, Shiny Chance, and Bonus XP.

Bobber Types:

  • Consumables: Single-use. Buying 10 Worms gives 10 casts. After use, the game automatically switches to the default Infinite Bobber.
  • Stat Modifiers: Permanent boosts while equipped.

Where to buy: Bobber Shop (Seth NPC) on Fisherman Island; Traveling Merchant (for rare ones); Gamepass; codes.

Bobber Progression by Level

  • Level 1โ€“20: Starter/Infinite Bait, Beach Ball, Cricket, Worm (speed-focused)
  • Level 20โ€“60: Midnight Bait, Nature Bait
  • Level 60โ€“100: Dark Matter Bait, Royal Bait
  • Level 100+: Singularity Bait (best raw luck; use only for rare fish)

Bobber Use by Goal

  • Money Farming: Royal Bait or Dark Matter Bait
  • XP Farming: Infinite Bobber (for volume/AFK sessions)
  • Raw Luck / Mythic Hunting: Singularity Bait (+380% Luck)
  • Mutation Hunting: Aether Bait or Corrupt Bait (high mutation/shiny chance)

Important Notes:

  • For AFK sessions, always use the Infinite Bobber โ€” consumable baits will be used up quickly.
  • If you have a Luck Potion (+50%) and obtain Super Luck (+100%), the stronger one overrides the weaker one.
  • Singularity Bait is not recommended for common fish โ€” save it for Mythic/Secret hunting.

Enchants Guide

1. Enchants

Enchantments are permanent modifiers applied to your Fishing Rod. They are random โ€” you cannot choose a specific enchant; each application overwrites the previous one (unless using a Transcended Stone, which unlocks a second enchant slot).

How to Enchant

  1. Travel to Esoteric Depths (pay the Gatekeeper 400 coins).
  2. Walk to the Enchanting Altar โ€” a small stone near the waterfall.
  3. Place an Enchant Stone on the altar, then equip your rod.
  4. Press E to enchant.
  5. A random modifier is applied. If the result is worse than your current enchant, you can re-roll by enchanting again โ€” but the new one will overwrite the old.

Enchant Stones: Rare drop from fishing (~1 in 500 chance). Also purchasable with Robux or from the Traveling Merchant. Keep enchanting stones for higher-tier rods โ€” do not waste them on basic rods like the Starter or Luck Rod.

Transcended Stone: A high-tier resource that unlocks a second enchantment slot on the rod. Required for the Element Rod quest.

Best Enchant Builds

  • XP Farming: Carbon Rod + XPerienced (doubles rewards; fastest path to Level 200)
  • Mythic/Secret Hunting: Ghostfinn Rod + Leprechaun or Stargazer
  • God Mode: Astral Rod + Empowered I

Notes:

  • "Cursed" enchant is generally bad โ€” reroll it as soon as possible.
  • Enchanting does not reset your rod's XP level.
  • Only Fishing Rods can be enchanted; Bobbers cannot.
  • Stormhunter gives +80% Luck boost during Rain โ€” equip it when it rains for a few minutes of massive luck.

Endgame and Secret Fish Guide

1. Secret Fish & Endgame Tips

Time-Gated Spawns

Secret fish often have a "server time" requirement. The longer you stay on the same server, the higher the chance of Secret fish appearing. Some fish spawn after 4โ€“8 hours of continuous fishing on the same server. Do not change servers โ€” the counter resets when you do.

Deep Water Multiplier

Secret fish are location-specific. Deep-water Secret fish (Abyssal Leviathan, Monster Shark) spawn in deep water zones: Esoteric Depths and deep ocean near Coral Reefs. Deep-sea areas have less common fish and better chances of Secret fish.

Enchant Rerolling Strategy

Keep rolling enchant stones until you get Empowered I. It boosts both Luck and Speed and is worth spending 100+ enchant stones for. Enchants overwrite each other, so keep rerolling for better results.

Secret Fish Locations

  • Eerie Shark: Coral Reefs / Tropical Grove (easiest Secret fish to catch)
  • Monster Shark: Coral Reefs (~1 in 2.5 million)
  • Great Whale: Tropical Grove
  • Abyssal Leviathan: Esoteric Depths
  • Sacred Guardian Squid: Ancient Jungle (Sacred Temple)

Server Tips

  • If a new update drops and you don't see the new island, you are likely in an old server. Leave and rejoin to load a fresh server.
  • During Admin Events (usually Sundays), server luck is heavily boosted. Use this time for difficult quest steps like artifact fishing in the Ancient Jungle.

Fish Rarity and Index Guide

1. Fish Rarity & Fish Index

There are 7 rarity tiers in Fish It (per the fandom wiki, which is the most detailed):

RarityApproximate OddsNotes
Common1 in 2 โ€“ 1 in 25Starter fish, low sell price
Uncommon1 in 50 โ€“ 1 in 150Low-mid value
Rare1 in 250 โ€“ 1 in 750Decent coins
Epic1 in 1,000 โ€“ 1 in 4,500Good farming value
Legendary1 in 4,500 โ€“ 1 in 25,000High value, endgame targets
Mythic1 in 2,000 โ€“ 1 in 200,000Very rare, high value
Secret1 in 250,000+Rarest in the game; some up to 1 in 2.5 million

Higher-tier fish sell for significantly more coin. Some guides note 112 total species in the base game while newer sources list 415+, reflecting continued updates to the game.

Event Fish also exist. These are limited-time fish available only during seasonal events (e.g., Christmas fish, Halloween fish).

Fishing Rods Guide

1. Fishing Rods โ€“ Full List & Stats

Fishing rods are the primary progression item. They have four key stats:

  • Luck: Increases chance of rare/legendary/mythical fish
  • Lure Speed: How quickly fish bite your cast; reduces wait time
  • Reel Speed: How fast you pull the fish in; important for XP grinding
  • Max Weight (kg): Maximum weight of fish you can catch without the line snapping

Note: Stat values vary slightly between sources; figures below are cross-referenced from fishit-wiki.com, bloxinformer.com, and beebom.com.

Diamond Rod Quest requirements:

  • Own the Element Rod
  • Catch a Secret Fish in Coral Reefs
  • Catch a Secret Fish in Tropical Grove
  • Bring Larry a Large Ruby
  • Bring Larry a Lochness Monster
  • Catch 1,000 fish using a perfect throw

Important Notes:

  • If your fishing line snaps instantly, the fish is too heavy for your rod's Max Weight stat. Upgrade to a rod with higher weight capacity.
  • All purchased rods are saved in your Inventory (Backpack). You can switch between them anytime.
  • Enchanting a rod does not reset its level.
  • The Ghostfinn Rod has a speed penalty for common/uncommon fish โ€” switch to a basic fast rod for volume grinding.

2. Rod Progression Path

Recommended progression (cross-referenced across all sources):

Lava Rod โ†’ Lucky Rod โ†’ Midnight Rod โ†’ Steampunk Rod โ†’ Chrome Rod โ†’ Hazmat Rod โ†’ Ghostfinn Rod โ†’ Element Rod

Early Game (Levels 1โ€“50):

  • Start with the Lava Rod (free from the Kohana Volcano NPC) โ€” better than the Luck and Carbon Rods and costs nothing.
  • Buy the Lucky Rod (130โ€“140% Luck, ~15,000 coins) from the Rod Store when you can.
  • Alternative: The Carbon Rod (~900 coins) is best purely for XP farming due to its high speed, even though it has lower luck.

Mid Game (Levels 50โ€“100):

  • Progress to Midnight Rod (100% Luck, 50,000 coins) for balanced stats.
  • Then Steampunk Rod (175โ€“225% Luck, 215,000 coins) for significant luck increase.
  • Then Chrome Rod (229โ€“280% Luck, 437,000 coins) โ€” the best Epic rod, offering excellent farming capability.

Late Game (100+):

  • Save up for Hazmat Rod (380% Luck, 1,300,000 coins from Traveling Merchant) โ€” available only from the merchant, so check regularly.
  • Then aim for Ghostfinn Rod (610% Luck, free via Deep Sea Quest) โ€” the primary tool for Index completion and Secret fish hunting.
  • Ultimate goal: Element Rod (1111% Luck, free via Element Quest) โ€” the best-in-slot rod in the game.
  • Diamond Rod (1300% Luck) is beyond Element Rod and requires its own quest chain.

Rod Use by Goal:

  • XP Farming: Carbon Rod (high speed) or Bamboo Rod
  • Mythic Hunting: Ghostfinn Rod (highest base luck for rare fish)
  • Speed / Money Grinding: Ares Rod (fast)
  • Index Completion: Ghostfinn Rod or Element Rod with Leprechaun/Stargazer enchant

3. Special Rod Quests (Ghostfinn & Element Rod)

Ghostfinn Rod โ€“ Deep Sea Quest

Location: Lost Isle (underwater) Prerequisites: Need 100,000+ coins before going (for Diving Gear at 75,000 coins), plus a good luck rod and bait.

Quest Steps:

  1. Catch 300 Rare or Epic fish in the Treasure Room. Fish must be caught in the Treasure Room specifically โ€” catches outside don't count. Use a fast rod (Carbon Rod) with Magnet or Worm Bait. Enable Auto-Fishing and leave it running.
  2. Catch 3 Mythic fish at the Sisyphus Statue. Mythics are ~1 in 2,000+ chance. Use your highest luck rod with Luck Potions and Singularity or Royal Bait. Leprechaun II+ enchant helps significantly.
  3. Catch 1 Secret fish at the Sisyphus Statue. Pure luck-based. Try during nighttime or Rain cycles. Weather-specific enchants (Stargazer, Stormhunter) boost chances. Stay on the same server โ€” changing servers resets internal counters.
  4. Earn 1,000,000 coins. Naturally completed while doing the other steps.

After completing all four tasks: Return to the Sisyphus Statue, interact with the quest prompt, and receive the Ghostfinn Rod.

Ghostfinn Rod Stats:

  • Luck: +610%
  • Lure Speed: +118%
  • Max Weight: 600,000 kg
  • Tier: Mythic

Important: Check your progress on the board located in the Sisyphus Statue chamber.

Element Rod โ€“ Transcended Stone Quest

Prerequisites: Must own the Ghostfinn Rod.

Quest Steps:

  1. Unlock the Underground Cellar in Ancient Jungle.
    • Travel to Ancient Jungle. Go straight from the dock; find a small wooden bridge leading to the Underground Cellar.
    • Pull 4 levers by finding 4 different artifacts. Buy a Radar from the Gear Store on Fisherman Island. Equip the Radar and scan areas around the levers. Fish near the levers to obtain the required artifacts. Admin Events (Sundays) boost luck significantly and are the best time for this step.
  2. Catch 1 Secret fish in Ancient Jungle.
  3. Catch 1 Secret fish in Sacred Temple.
  4. Create 3 Transcended Stones.
    • Inside the Underground Cellar, find the Temple Guardian NPC. Sacrifice 1 Secret Rarity Fish to create 1 Transcended Stone. Equip the fish in hand (not just in backpack) and interact with the Guardian. Repeat 3 times.
  5. Talk to the Temple Guardian again and exchange 3 Transcended Stones for the Element Rod.

Element Rod Stats:

  • Luck: +1111%
  • Reel Speed: +130%
  • Lure Speed: +130%
  • Max Weight: 900,000 kg
  • Tier: Secret

Comparison: Ghostfinn vs. Element Rod:

StatGhostfinn RodElement Rod
Luck+610%+1111%
Reel Speed-10% (penalty)+130%
Lure Speed-10% (penalty)+130%
Max Weight600,000 kg900,000 kg

Pro Tips for Element Quest:

  • Use Ghostfinn Rod โ€” you cannot catch Secret fish reliably with lower rods.
  • Farm the Eerie Shark in Coral Reefs or Tropical Grove first โ€” it is one of the easier Secret fish to catch.
  • Use Stargazer Enchant on Ghostfinn Rod and fish at night for a significant luck boost.
  • The "I can't make the stone!" issue occurs when players don't hold the fish in their character's hand โ€” just having it in the backpack isn't enough.

Islands and Locations Guide

1. Islands & Locations

Fish It has approximately 11 different locations in total, including the Open Ocean. Each island hosts unique fish species.

Fisherman Island (Stingray Shores) โ€” Starter Hub

  • Difficulty: Easy
  • Best for: Levels 1โ€“40โ€“50
  • Key fish: Common starter fish; occasional Rare and Epic with good luck
  • Services: Rod Shop, Bobber Shop, Boat NPC, Traveling Merchant (occasional), Rod Skin Shop, Fish Merchant (selling), Gear Store (Radar), Blackboard (Admin Event sign-up), Enchanting Altar (via Esoteric Depths)
  • Notes: Default spawn point. Do not leave until you have a decent rod and have earned enough coins for a boat. Changing dock spots periodically can refresh fish RNG.

Tropical Grove

  • Difficulty: Easy / Medium
  • Best for: Levels 40โ€“90
  • Key fish: Orange Basslet (Uncommon), Racoon Butterfly Fish (Uncommon), Thresher Shark (Mythic), Great Whale (Secret)
  • Notes: Visible from Fisherman Island. Reachable with a cheap boat. Fish sell at higher rates than Fisherman Island. Also home to the Alchemist NPC (near the waterfall) who crafts potions from rare fish or Essence.

Kohana Island & Kohana Volcano

  • Difficulty: Medium
  • Reward: Free Lava Rod (from NPC fisherman inside the volcano)
  • Key fish: Magma Shark (Mythic, ~1 in 200,000), Blueflame Ray (Mythic); do not touch lava or you die
  • Notes: You need a Magma Rod to handle the Magma Shark โ€” standard rods will snap. Good for Epic fish farming in the early-mid game. Kohana docks (not volcano) are excellent for high-volume Legendary farming in mid game.

Coral Reefs

  • Difficulty: Medium
  • Key fish: White Clownfish (Rare), Starjam Tang (Legendary), Greenbee Grouper (Legendary), Blue Lobster (Legendary), Monster Shark (Secret ~1 in 2.5M), Eerie Shark (Secret)
  • Notes: Good for hunting Secret fish at end game. Spend 2+ hours here for rare catches.

Esoteric Depths

  • Difficulty: Hard (requires 400 coin elevator fee paid to the Gatekeeper NPC)
  • Best for: Levels 90โ€“150 and endgame
  • Key fish: Enchanted Angelfish (Legendary), Magic Tang (Legendary), Astra Damsel (Epic), Abyssal Leviathan (Secret)
  • Notes: Contains the Enchanting Altar (near a waterfall; used to enchant rods). Elevator entrance is inside a cave on the main hub island. Pay the Gatekeeper 400 coins to descend. Fishing here without the XPerienced enchant is considered inefficient for XP farming.

Lost Isle

  • Difficulty: Hard
  • Key fish: Synodontis (Legendary), Deep Sea Crab (Legendary); Mythic and Secret fish in underwater areas
  • Services: Diving Gear (75,000 coins), Angler Rod (8,000,000 coins)
  • Notes: Requires a jetski or speedboat to reach. See Section 7 for the underwater locations.

Crater Island

  • Difficulty: Medium-Hard
  • Key fish: Parrot Fish (Rare), Catfish (Rare), Sheepshead Fish (Rare), Coney Fish (Rare), Axolotl (Legendary)
  • Notes: Spend 4โ€“5 hours here for rare fish.

Ancient Jungle

  • Difficulty: Hard-Endgame
  • Key fish: Spear Guardian (Epic), Goliath Tiger (Epic), Skeleton Angler Fish (Epic), Sacred Guardian Squid (Secret)
  • Services: Bamboo Rod (12,000,000 coins), Underground Cellar (see Section 10 for Element Rod quest)
  • Notes: Contains an underground cellar accessible via a wooden bridge from the dock. Requires 4 levers unlocked with 4 artifacts found via Radar. Best XP zone in the game.

Open Ocean

  • Notes: A separate zone from all islands. Hosts fish species not found on any island (Chrome Tuna, Ruby, etc.). Requires a boat to reach.

Pirate Cove (Event/Expansion)

  • Notes: A Pirate Cove expansion area exists. Accessing the secret cave requires finding 4 TNT locations. Check in-game for current availability.

2. Secret & Hidden Locations

Lost Isle โ€“ Secret Underwater World

How to access:

  1. Travel to Lost Isle (requires a jetski or speedboat).
  2. Walk to the backside of the island.
  3. Purchase Diving Gear for 75,000 coins (on a small platform at the end of the island).
  4. Go to Items, select the gear, and click anywhere to equip it.
  5. Jump into the water and use your mouse to control swimming direction.

Three underwater areas:

  • Sisyphus Statue โ€“ Primary fishing spot for Mythic and Secret fish. Also the location of the Deep Sea Quest board.
  • Angler Rod Hall / Chamber โ€“ Purchase the Angler Rod here for 8,000,000 coins.
  • Treasure Room (Deep Gorge) โ€“ Legendary fish location (e.g., Synodontis). Go deeper into the chamber to reach it.

Tips:

  • Fishing here for 30 minutes with a decent rod/bait gives 10,000โ€“20,000 coins.
  • Rare/Epic fish caught outside the Treasure Room do not count toward the Deep Sea Quest task.
  • Use Auto-Fishing in the Treasure Room for the 300-fish task.

Esoteric Depths

A large cave area accessed via elevator on the main hub island. Pay the Gatekeeper 400 coins. Contains the Enchanting Altar and is one of the best fishing locations for endgame players.

Ancient Jungle โ€“ Underground Cellar

Required for the Element Rod Quest (see Section 10). Accessible via a wooden bridge from the dock area of the Ancient Jungle. Requires pulling 4 levers with 4 different artifacts found by using the Radar.

Leveling Guide

1. Leveling Guide (Reaching Level 200 Fast)

XP is based on volume of catches, not rarity. Catch as many fish as possible.

Best Setup for XP Farming

  • Enchant: XPerienced I (1.5x XP per catch) โ€” highest priority
  • Rod: Fast Rod, Carbon Rod, or Bamboo Rod
  • Bobber: Midnight Bait or Worm Bait (for speed)

Quantity Fishing Method

Catch 10 Common fish = 100 XP, takes ~30 seconds. Every ~45 seconds, a Mythical may appear for 500 XP. Set fishing to Auto and let it run.

Best Locations by XP

Phase-by-Phase Details

Phase 1 โ€“ Rookie (0โ€“900 Coins): Start fishing immediately on Fisherman Island. Redeem codes for a head start. Buy the Luck Rod (350โ€“900 coins) and Topwater Bait (100 coins) once you hit 800 coins. Catch 20โ€“30 more fish to accumulate ~800โ€“900 coins total. Pro tip: Always sell fish at the merchant before leaving an island.

Phase 2 โ€“ Kohana Grind (900โ€“55,000 Coins): Buy a Carbon Rod (~900 coins) and Small Boat (~300 coins). Travel to Kohana Volcano, talk to the NPC fisherman for the free Lava Rod. Fish inside the volcano for 30 minutes (careful: lava kills you). Catch at least 3 Rare fish before leaving. Target 150โ€“200 fish = 15,000โ€“18,000 coins. Return to Fisherman Island; buy Lucky Rod (15,000) and Midnight Bait (3,000). Fish for another 30 minutes to reach 50,000โ€“55,000 coins.

Phase 3 โ€“ Mid-Game Surge (55,000โ€“437,000 Coins): Fish at Fisherman Island for 1 hour, changing dock spots frequently. Aim for 600โ€“700 fish = 100,000โ€“110,000 coins. Buy Midnight Rod (50,000) and Nature Bait (83,000). Continue for 2 more hours for Legendary catches. Get a Jetski and travel to Kohana Docks (not volcano). Fish for 4 hours = 1,500โ€“1,800 fish, many Legendaries = 300,000โ€“400,000 coins. Buy Steampunk Rod (215,000) and eventually Chrome Rod (437,000).

Phase 4 โ€“ High Tier Hunting (437,000โ€“1,000,000+ Coins): Buy Chrome Rod. Travel to Lost Isle. Buy Diving Gear (75,000). Fish in the Treasure Room for 1.5โ€“2 hours = 200,000โ€“215,000 coins. Then move to Sisyphus Statue for 6โ€“7 hours = 3,500 fish = 600,000โ€“700,000 coins, with good chances of Mythic fish.

Phase 5 โ€“ God Mode (1,000,000+ Coins): Buy Astral Rod (1,000,000). Travel to Esoteric Depths. Pay elevator fee (400 coins). Enchant rod at the altar โ€” aim for Empowered I. Fish for 10 hours = 4,000โ€“4,500 fish = 800,000โ€“900,000 more coins. Upgrade to Dark Matter Bait (630,000).

Phase 6 โ€“ The Collector (Secrets & Mastery): Buy Dark Matter Bait (630,000). Travel to Tropical Grove and fish for 8โ€“10 hours for Mythic fish (Thresher Shark, etc.). Then Coral Reefs for 2 hours (Monster Shark; 1 in 2.5 million chance). Then Crater Island for 4โ€“5 hours for more rare fish. Some Secret fish require 8โ€“12 hours of continuous fishing on the same server. Do not change servers โ€” the internal spawn counter resets.

Mutations Guide

1. Mutations

Mutations are rare modifiers randomly applied to a fish at the moment it bites your hook. They change the fish's appearance, weight, and sell price. You cannot breed or modify fish after catching them.

Key distinction:

  • Luck: Increases chance of finding a Rare Species.
  • Mutation Chance: Increases chance of the fish having a Special Skin/modifier.

Mutation Tier List

MutationRaritySell Price MultiplierVisual Effect
Big / HugeCommon1.2x โ€“ 1.5xFish is physically larger/heavier
ShinyUncommon4xSparkle effect and lighter texture
ElectricRare6xSurrounded by small yellow sparks
GoldRare10xEntire fish looks like solid gold
NeonEpic12x โ€“ 15xGlows brightly (Cyan/Pink/Green)
Negative (Dark)Legendary20xInverted colors; pitch black & white
TranslucentMythical35xSee-through / ghost-like
RainbowGOD TIER50x โ€“ 100xCycles through RGB colors rapidly

Example of stacking: A "Big Gold Shark" combines the Big and Gold multipliers โ€” both stack.

Event-specific mutations: Frozen (Christmas Event), Pumpkin (Halloween Event). These are Epic-tier mutations.

Important stat note: If you have "+100% Mutation Chance" but still catch normal fish, note that "+100% Mutation Chance" is a multiplier of the base mutation chance. If base chance is 1%, +100% takes it to 2% โ€” not 100%. The stats in Fish It are multipliers, not flat percentage additions.

How to Farm Mutations

Method 1 โ€“ Fisherman Island Speed Farm:

  • Equip a fast rod (Carbon or Steel Rod) with Mutation Hunter or Cursed enchant.
  • Use Worm Bait for Speed.
  • You get a starter fish every ~3 seconds โ€” 20 chances per minute (much faster than deep ocean at ~30 seconds per fish).

Method 2 โ€“ Nuclear/Radioactive Storm Event:

  • Watch for a Radioactive or Nuclear Storm weather event โ€” the global mutation rate increases dramatically.
  • Drop all tasks and fish continuously until the event ends.
  • A Rainbow Kraken (God Tier mutation on an already rare Mythic) can yield ~2,500,000 coins at sell.

Potions Guide

1. Potions

Potions are consumable temporary buffs lasting 10โ€“30 minutes. Unlike Enchants (permanent), potions expire in real-time even if you log out.

How to Get Potions

Method 1 โ€“ Codes: Developer Fish Atelier releases free codes regularly. Check the code redemption page (see Section 20) and the official Discord.

Method 2 โ€“ Crafting / Alchemist NPC: An Alchemist NPC is found in Tropical Grove (near the waterfall) or sometimes on Swamp Island. Trade rare fish or Essence (collected from events) for potions. The Alchemist's stock rotates.

Method 3 โ€“ Robux Shop: Instant purchase from the main menu. Lucky Potion ~19 Robux, Super Luck ~49 Robux. Starter Packs with multiple potions are available.

Method 4 โ€“ Daily Rewards: Daily Wheel spin on Fisherman Island can reward random potions.

Potion Stacking Rules:

  • You can use multiple different potions simultaneously (e.g., Luck + Speed both active at once).
  • You cannot stack the same potion twice โ€” the stronger one overrides the weaker one; using two of the same type just refreshes the timer.
  • The potion timer runs in real-time โ€” it continues if you log out.

Best Potion Tip: Hold rare/Mythic fish in your inventory, drink a Wealth Potion, then sell to get a 1.5x sell bonus.
