RIVALS has a small number of collectible badges that can be earned in-game.
Badge List
| Badge | Total Awards | Rarity |
|---|---|---|
| Welcome! | 426,800,000+ | 0.09% |
| Alpha Tester! | 46 | 0.00% |
Badge Details
Welcome!
Awarded to players upon first joining RIVALS. With over 426.8 million awards given out, it reflects the massive total visit count of the game (16.2 billion lifetime visits). Despite the enormous number of awards, the rarity percentage is still low (0.09%) relative to the total visits.
Alpha Tester!
An extremely rare badge awarded to only 46 players who participated in the alpha phase of RIVALS before the public release. With a 0.00% rarity, this badge is essentially unobtainable for anyone who did not play during the alpha period.
Contracts
Every weapon in RIVALS has its own individual contract tree. Completing contract milestones rewards players with Keys, Charms, and Wraps. Contracts are the primary way to earn Keys through gameplay.
How Contracts Work
Contracts track two types of progress for each weapon:
- Eliminations β kills scored while the weapon is equipped in your loadout
- Playtime β total time spent in matches with the weapon equipped
Progress is specific to each weapon and does not carry over between weapons.
Contract Milestones β Primary & Secondary Weapons
| Milestone | Reward |
|---|---|
| 5 Eliminations | 1 Key |
| 20 Eliminations | Random Charm |
| 100 Eliminations | Random Charm |
| 500 Eliminations | Weapon-specific Wrap Box |
| 1 Hour Playtime | Common Wrap |
| 24 Hours Playtime | Rare Wrap |
Contract Milestones β Melee Weapons
Melee weapons require half the eliminations of primary and secondary weapons at each milestone.
| Milestone | Reward |
|---|---|
| 2β3 Eliminations (half of 5) | 1 Key |
| 10 Eliminations (half of 20) | Random Charm |
| 50 Eliminations (half of 100) | Random Charm |
| 250 Eliminations (half of 500) | Weapon-specific Wrap Box |
| 1 Hour Playtime | Common Wrap |
| 24 Hours Playtime | Rare Wrap |
Tips
- Contracts reward players more when the weapon fits their natural playstyle β choosing weapons you enjoy will progress contracts faster
- The Knife melee weapon specifically has half the contract requirements compared to other melee weapons (same as the melee category standard)
- Playing ranked and competitive modes with your chosen weapon is the fastest way to accumulate eliminations
- Completing the 5-elimination milestone repeatedly across multiple weapons is a reliable early-game source of Keys
- Weapon-specific Wrap Boxes from the 500-elimination milestone provide cosmetics directly tied to the weapon you grinded on
Cosmetics
RIVALS has an extensive cosmetics system covering weapon skins, wraps, charms, finishers, and emotes. All cosmetics are purely visual and do not affect gameplay.
Wraps
Wraps are universal weapon cosmetics that can be applied to any weapon. They are organized into rarity tiers.
Wrap Rarity Tiers
| Rarity | Count | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Common | 68 | Standard drops from Wrap Boxes |
| Rare | 94 | Better drops; also from contracts |
| Legendary | 96 | Higher-quality cosmetics |

| Glorious | 46 | Ranked Shop exclusive; costs 1,000 Glory each |
| Special | 1 | Limited or unique origin |
| Unobtainable | 3 | No longer available in the game |
Total tracked wraps: Common (68) + Rare (94) + Legendary (96) + Mythical (24) + Glorious (46) + Special (1) + Unobtainable (3)

UGC Items
Nosniy Games has published 35 official UGC (User-Generated Content) items on the Roblox catalog. These items:
- Function as Roblox avatar gear (wearable on your Roblox avatar)
- Provide in-game reward progress tracking when equipped
Gamemodes
RIVALS currently has 21 gamemodes available. Some gamemodes are available at all times, while others (like 1v1v1, 2v2v2, and 3v3v3 FFA variants) rotate in a daily gamemodes cycle rather than appearing on the main Play page.
Standard Duel Modes
These modes pit two sides against each other. The first to 5 round wins takes the match.
| Mode | Players |
|---|---|
| 1v1 | 2 players |
| 2v2 | 4 players |
| 3v3 | 6 players |
| 4v4 | 8 players |
| 5v5 | 10 players |
Beginner 2v2
A lower-skill queue designed for newer players who are still learning the game.
Ranked Modes
Separate competitive queues with their own ELO ladders. See the Ranked Mode guide for full details on requirements, ranks, and rules.
| Mode | Players |
|---|---|
| 1v1 Ranked | 2 players |
| 2v2 Ranked | 4 players |
| 3v3 Ranked | 6 players |
Free-For-All (FFA)
All players fight each other with no teams. Three FFA variants exist:
| Mode | Players |
|---|---|
| 1v1v1 | 3 players |
| 2v2v2 | 6 players |
| 3v3v3 | 9 players |
The 1v1v1 and 2v2v2 variants were moved from the main Play page into the daily gamemodes rotation. The 3v3v3 is a newer addition.
Team Deathmatch (TDM)
Two teams fight each other continuously. Players respawn after being eliminated. The match is won by the first team to reach 250 points, or by the team with the most points after 8 minutes. Points are scored by eliminating members of the opposing team.
Gun Game
Up to 16 players compete in a weapon-cycling mode. All players cycle through different weapons as they get kills. The objective is to land the final kill with the Glass Shard to win the match.
Special / Rotating Gamemodes
These modes are available through the daily gamemodes rotation:
- Double Trouble
- Mirror Matchup
- Limitless Loadout
- Juggernaut
- Swift Standoff
Shooting Range
A dedicated practice area where players can test weapons and improve their aim and mechanics before competing in live matches. Not a competitive mode.
Getting Started
RIVALS is a fast-paced, competitive first-person shooter on Roblox developed by Nosniy Games. Players fight in short duels ranging from 1v1 to 5v5, and the first side to 5 round wins takes the match. The game features 53 weapons spread across four loadout slots, 40 maps, and 21 gamemodes.
Game Facts
- Developer: Nosniy Games (also known as Sensei Global)

- Release Date: May 26, 2024
- Peak Concurrent Players: 291,000+

Your Loadout
Every player builds a loadout with four slots:
- Primary β your main damage source (rifles, shotguns, launchers, etc.)
- Secondary β backup weapon when primary ammo depletes (pistols, uzis, etc.)
- Melee β close-range weapon, many with special movement or defensive abilities
- Utility β tactical item (grenades, flashbangs, medkits, etc.)
The Assault Rifle (Primary) and Handgun (Secondary) and Fists (Melee) and Grenade (Utility) are free from the start. All other weapons cost Keys to unlock.
Finding a Match
Matches are joined by stepping onto colored pads in the main lobby:
- Green pads β 1v1 duels
- Blue pads β 2v2 team matches
- Red pads β 5v5 team battles
Wait on the pad and the game will match you with opponents automatically.
Recommended Settings for New Players
Adjust these in the in-game settings menu before your first matches:
- Auto Sprint: Enabled
- Easy Slide: Activated
- FOV: 90β110 range
- Camera Zoom: 0
- Crosshair: bars, outline, static with adjusted visibility
First Steps
- Go to the Shooting Range to practice aiming and weapon mechanics before competing
- Play a few 1v1 matches to understand the core loop
- Complete daily quests early β they are the fastest consistent source of Keys
- Work on weapon contracts using the Assault Rifle since it is free and universally useful
- Once you have played at least 10 duels and reached account level 30 with a 14-day-old account, ranked mode becomes available
Anti-Cheat
RIVALS enforces a strict anti-cheat policy. Cheaters are permanently banned with no second chances. Active moderation is in place at all times.
Keys and Economy
RIVALS has two main in-game currencies: Keys and Glory. There is also a smaller currency called Jump Shards used for one specific item.
Keys
Keys are the primary progression currency used to unlock weapons and cosmetics.
Earning Keys
| Source | Keys Earned |
|---|---|
| Contracts (per milestone) | 1 Key per 5 Eliminations milestone |
| Daily and weekly tasks | Varies |
| Codes | 1β5 Keys per code |
| Robux bundles | Varies (real money purchase) |
Contracts are the main source of Keys over time. Playing consistently with any weapon and completing contract milestones is the most reliable way to accumulate Keys.
Spending Keys
| Purchase | Cost |
|---|---|
| Wrap Box (random wrap) | 5 Keys |
| Guaranteed weapon-specific wrap | 25 Keys |
| Universal wrap | 250 Keys |
| Charm Capsule | Varies |
| Finisher Pack | Varies |
| Shop refresh | Varies |
| Weapon unlocks | Varies per weapon (see Weapons guide) |
Weapon unlock costs range from:
- Free: Assault Rifle, Handgun, Fists, Grenade
- Low cost (5β35 Keys): Spray, Flare Gun, Bow, Chainsaw, Shotgun, Knife, RPG, Burst Rifle, Shorty, Uzi, Revolver, Smoke Grenade, Flashbang, Daggers, Molotov, War Horn, Satchel, Scythe, Riot Shield, Katana, Battle Axe, Sniper, Freeze Ray
- Mid cost (150β300 Keys): Glass Cannon, Trowel, Slingshot, Subspace Tripmine
- High cost (300β700 Keys): Medkit, Warpstone, Exogun, Energy Pistols, Flamethrower, Energy Rifle, Grenade Launcher, Minigun, Paintball Gun, Grappler, Permafrost, Warper, Distortion
Economy Tips
- Prioritize unlocking meta weapons first rather than spending Keys on cosmetics early in progression
- The Assault Rifle is free and strong β use it to earn Keys through contracts before spending on other primaries
- Daily quests provide consistent Key income and should be completed every day
- Codes provide free Keys; always redeem new codes as they are released (see Codes guide)
Glory
Glory is a seasonal currency tied to ranked play.
Earning Glory
- Awarded at the end of each ranked season based on your final ELO
- Ranked wins accumulated during the season convert to Glory points, which also influence next season's placement bonus
Spending Glory
- Glorious wraps in the Ranked Shop: 1,000 Glory each
- Glorious wraps are the only way to obtain this exclusive cosmetic rarity tier β they cannot be purchased with Keys
Jump Shards
A separate currency used specifically to purchase the Jump Pad utility item, which costs 9 Jump Shards.
Maps
RIVALS features 40 maps total. Maps are split into several categories based on their availability and purpose.
Regular Maps (17)
These are the standard maps available in normal match rotation:
| Map | Notes |
|---|---|
| Arena | |
| Backrooms | |
| Battleground | |
| Bridge | |
| Chess | |
| Construction | |
| Crossroads | |
| Dimension | |
| Docks | |

Big Variants (6)
Larger versions of six regular maps, used in bigger team modes such as 5v5 and Team Deathmatch:
- Big Arena
- Big Backrooms
- Big Crossroads
- Big Graveyard
- Big Onyx
- Big Splash
Legacy Maps (7)
Reworked versions of original maps. These versions existed before the maps were redesigned and may be available in private servers or through specific rotations.
Experimental Maps (2)
Test maps that are currently available but may be removed in future updates.
Special Maps (3)
Maps that are exclusive to specific gamemodes and do not appear in standard map rotation.
Map Knowledge Tips
- Learn the choke points and high-ground positions on every map β controlling these areas provides a significant competitive advantage.
- Know the spawn locations on each map to anticipate enemy positions early in rounds.
- In Ranked mode, each team bans 1 map from a pool of 3 shown maps, so familiarity with all regular maps is important.
- Tight corridor maps such as Backrooms favor close-range weapons like the Shotgun.
- Open sightline maps favor weapons like the Sniper or Burst Rifle.
Ranked Mode
RIVALS has three separate ranked queues: 1v1 Ranked, 2v2 Ranked, and 3v3 Ranked, each with its own independent ELO ladder.
Unlocking Ranked
All three of the following conditions must be met before ranked queues become available:
- Complete 10 regular (non-ranked) duels
- Reach account level 30
- Have a Roblox account that is at least 14 days old
Placement Matches
Once ranked is unlocked, players complete 10 placement matches before receiving a visible rank badge.
- The system evaluates opponent strength, not just win/loss totals
- Winning against higher-ranked opponents counts more than winning against weaker ones
- A player who wins fewer matches against strong opponents can be placed higher than one who wins more against weaker players
- Maximum initial placement: Diamond 1 (~2,500 ELO)
Rank Tiers & ELO Thresholds
| Rank | Tier I ELO | Tier II ELO | Tier III ELO |
|---|---|---|---|
| Bronze | 0+ | 200+ | 400+ |
| Silver | 600+ | 800+ | 1,000+ |
| Gold | 1,200+ | 1,400+ | 1,600+ |
| Platinum | 1,800+ | 2,000+ | 2,200+ |
| Diamond | 2,400+ | 2,600+ | 2,800+ |
| Onyx | 3,000+ | 3,200+ | 3,400+ |
| Nemesis | 3,600+ | β | β |
| Archnemesis | Top 200 players | β | β |
ELO System
- Win β ELO increases
- Lose β ELO decreases
- The amount gained or lost depends on the ELO gap between you and your opponent
- Beating someone significantly above your rank yields a large ELO jump
- Losing to someone significantly above your rank barely moves your ELO
- The reverse is also true: losing to a lower-ranked player costs more ELO
ELO Shields
ELO Shields protect against losing ELO from a single defeat.
- Players below Platinum 1 receive 1 free ELO Shield per day
- Shields do not stack β only 1 can be held at a time
- Shields are consumed by wins as well as losses
- If a player drops from Platinum 1 to Gold 3 in a single day, they receive 1 additional shield
- Players at Platinum 1 or higher receive no daily shields
High-Rank ELO Decay
For players at Onyx 1 and above:
- After 7 consecutive days with no ranked games played, ELO decays by β100 per day
- Decay continues until a ranked match is played, or until the player's ELO reaches exactly 3,000
Ranked-Specific Rules
Camera & Mechanics
- First-person camera only (Third Person Mode is disabled)
- Aim Assist is capped at 0.5 (50% reduction)
- Auto Shoot Mode is forced to Dynamic
Loadout Restrictions
- Maximum 2 loadout swaps per duel
- Casual win streaks do not break from ranked losses
Map Bans
- Three maps are shown before each match
- Each team bans 1 map; the remaining map is played
Weapon Bans
- Each team bans 2 non-default weapons
- Default weapons (Assault Rifle, Handgun, Fists, Grenade) cannot be banned unless all players in the match own at least four weapons in each respective category
Party Restrictions
- Squad members must be within 4 ranks (~800 ELO difference) of each other
- Solo queue has no restrictions
Penalties
- Leaving a match mid-game counts as a loss
- Leaving also triggers a ~15 minute ranked queue suspension
- If a match timer expires, the win is awarded based on remaining health
Seasonal Rewards
At the end of each season, players receive rewards based on their final ELO and win count:
- Glory currency (amount based on final ELO)
- Exclusive weapon skins for reaching high win milestones
- Arch Katana for Archnemesis finishers
- Tier-themed universal charms
Ranked Contract
Each season has a Ranked Contract that tracks ranked wins. Reaching 200 ranked wins awards an exclusive free skin.
Ranked wins also convert to Glory points, which influence next season's placement bonus.
Seasons
RIVALS operates on a seasonal system. Each season introduces new ranked content, cosmetics, maps, and weapons, and ends with a ranked soft reset before the next season begins.
Season 3 β "The Fame Season"
- Launch Date: April 24, 2026
- Season 3 is the current season as of June 2026
- Integrated with the Summer Event and Update 21 content
Typical Season Content
Each season generally delivers:
- 2β4 new maps
- At least 1 new weapon
- Ranked-exclusive skins
- New cosmetics (wraps, charms, finishers, emotes)
Ranked Contract (Per Season)
Every season includes a Ranked Contract that tracks ranked wins and unlocks rewards at milestones:
| Milestone | Reward |
|---|---|
| 200 Ranked Wins | Exclusive free skin (season-specific) |
Ranked wins also convert to Glory points, which influence your placement bonus at the start of the next season.
Season End Rewards
At the end of each season, players receive rewards based on their final ELO and performance:
| Achievement | Reward |
|---|---|
| Final ELO (all ranks) | Glory currency (amount scales with ELO) |
| High win milestones | Exclusive weapon skins |
| Archnemesis finishers | Arch Katana |
| Rank-tier completion | Tier-themed universal charms |
Ranked Soft Reset Between Seasons
At the start of a new season, all ranked players undergo a soft reset. Your final rank from the previous season determines your starting placement in the new season:
| Previous Season Rank | New Season Starting Placement |
|---|---|
| Iron / Bronze / Silver | IronβSilver |
| Gold / Platinum | SilverβGold |
| Diamond | GoldβPlatinum |
| Nemesis | Diamond |
| Masters | Masters (with ELO reduction) |
| Archnemesis | Masters |
This means highly-ranked players start the new season lower than their previous peak but retain some advantage over players who placed in lower tiers.
Pre-Season 3 Meta Context
Before Season 3 launched, the meta had shifted toward burst-fire weapons following hitscan nerfs in earlier patches. Notable balance changes heading into Season 3:
- Shotgun damage decreased from 50 to 40
- Shotgun equip cooldown improved from 1.7s to 1.25s
- Sniper remained strong in the S-Tier
Tips and Strategies
Beginner Fundamentals
- Use the Shooting Range to practice aiming and weapon mechanics before entering competitive queues
- Start with the Assault Rifle as your primary β it is free, works at all ranges, and has strong win rates
- Focus on movement equally with aiming: constant strafing, jumping, and pattern variation make you harder to hit
- Learn map layouts early β knowing choke points and spawn locations gives an immediate advantage
- Prioritize objectives over kills in objective-based modes
- Invest Keys in meta weapons before spending on cosmetics during early progression
Combat Mechanics
Positioning
- Always fight from cover and high ground whenever possible
- Avoid open-field duels β they almost always end badly for the player in the open
- Pre-fire expected enemy locations β shoot at where an enemy is about to appear before they step out
Movement
- Constant movement is required for survival; never stand still
- Master slide cancellation early β it is one of the most important movement skills in RIVALS
- Use explosive jumping (RPG, Grenade, Flare Gun) for vertical mobility and escape routes
- The Daggers secondary enables a double jump for additional mobility
Gunplay
- Use directional audio to detect enemy positions β sound reveals which direction opponents are approaching from
- Reload cancel by swapping to a different weapon during the reload animation. Switch back when the ammo counter increases (before the animation completes) to skip the rest of the reload
- Corner peek before rushing into rooms or around obstacles
- Retreat when at low health rather than feeding kills to an opponent
Advanced Tactics
- Bait and Switch: feign a retreat to draw an enemy to pursue you, then turn and ambush them
- The Katana can deflect bullets with proper timing, making it both an offensive and defensive option
- The Riot Shield blocks incoming projectiles and applies knockback β useful for advancing under fire
- The Exogun deals splash damage that bypasses the Riot Shield, making it the counter-pick to shield users
- The Maul slam deals 50 damage with a 64-unit knockback β use it to knock enemies off ledges or into walls
Loadout Strategy
- Pair weapons to cover each other's weaknesses: for example, an SMG or Uzi (close-range) paired with a Burst Rifle or Sniper (long-range)
- Adapt your loadout to your opponent's playstyle: close-quarters weapons for rushers, ranged weapons for campers
- Save utility abilities (Molotov, Freeze Ray, Warpstone) for clutch moments β they have long cooldowns
- In ranked, you have a maximum of 2 loadout swaps per duel, so plan your swaps carefully
Teamwork
- Stay grouped with teammates to avoid being isolated and eliminated one by one
- Use pings or text chat for callouts to coordinate with your team
- Play role-based: tanks protect damage dealers; snipers provide cover fire from distance
- Coordinate to focus the same target rather than splitting damage across multiple enemies
Economy & Progression
- Complete daily quests every session β they are the most consistent source of Keys
- Work on weapon contracts with weapons you already enjoy using β progress happens naturally
- Redeem all active codes as soon as possible to accumulate free Keys and wraps
- Contracts reward the most when you play weapons that fit your playstyle
Ranked Tips
- Review the map pool and have strategies prepared for every map before entering ranked
- Know your weapon bans ahead of time β banning weapons you struggle against vs. strong meta weapons is a strategic choice
- ELO Shields (available below Platinum 1) should be used on days when you feel less confident to protect your rank
- At Onyx 1+, play ranked at least once every 7 days to prevent ELO decay (β100 per day after 7 days inactive)
- Avoid leaving matches β it counts as a loss and triggers a ~15 minute queue ban
Settings Optimization
| Setting | Recommended Value |
|---|---|
| Auto Sprint | Enabled |
| Easy Slide | Activated |
| FOV | 90β110 |
| Camera Zoom | 0 |
| Crosshair Style | Bars, outline, static |
Weapon Tier List
This tier list reflects the competitive meta as of April 2026 / Season 3. The meta shifted toward burst-fire weapons following hitscan nerfs from earlier patches. Shotgun damage was reduced from 50 to 40, while its equip cooldown improved from 1.7s to 1.25s.
S-Tier β Dominant / Must-Use
These weapons dominate the current meta and are the top picks for competitive play.
| Weapon | Category | Reason |
|---|---|---|
| Permafrost | Primary (Contraband) | 2-round burst with a heavy slow/freeze ability for closing gaps and controlling opponents |
| Assault Rifle | Primary | Free, versatile all-rounder with strong win rates at every range; the safest choice |
| Paintball Gun | Primary (Prime) | High fire rate; dominates close-range engagements |
| Sniper | Primary | One-shot headshot potential; ceiling is very high for precision players |
| Minigun | Primary (Prime) | Sustained fire output for breaking down grouped enemies |
A-Tier β Excellent & Reliable
Very strong weapons that are competitive picks in most situations.
| Weapon | Category | Reason |
|---|---|---|
| Burst Rifle | Primary | Excels at hit-and-run tactics |

| Grenade Launcher | Primary | Often outclassed by other primaries |
| Flare Gun | Secondary | Only valuable in very specific moments |
| Chainsaw | Melee | Falls off significantly against skilled opponents |
| Grenade | Utility | Limited effectiveness in fast-paced duels |

D-Tier β Avoid Unless Playing for Fun
These weapons are easily countered or have minimal practical use in the current patch.
| Weapon | Category | Reason |
|---|---|---|
| Knife | Melee | Easily countered in the current patch |
| Freeze Ray | Utility | Overly situational |
| Smoke Grenade | Utility | Poor viability in the current meta |
| Fists | Melee | Easily countered in the current patch |
| Trowel | Utility | Minimal practical use |
Notes on Specific Weapons
- Permafrost is classified as a Contraband weapon with a 2-round burst mechanic.
- Paintball Gun and Minigun are classified as Prime rarity.
- Katana can deflect bullets with proper timing, making it a defensive melee option as well.
- Exogun (not listed above; situational A/B border) deals splash damage that bypasses the Riot Shield, making it a strong counter pick.
- Knife requires only half the contract eliminations of primary/secondary weapons, making it efficient for contract grinding despite its tier placement.
