2. GETTING STARTED — MAIN MENU & CONTROLS
The M Menu
Getting started begins with pressing the M key on your keyboard or tapping the menu icon on mobile. This opens the main menu where you access houses, vehicles, avatar options, and moods. The game drops you into the town center with no instructions, so opening this menu is the single most important first step.
The M menu contains five core tabs:
- Houses tab — browse, claim, and teleport to properties
- Avatar tab — opens the character editor to change appearance and outfits
- Vehicles tab — lists every vehicle you can spawn
- Moods tab — provides animation packs and roleplay expressions
- Items tab — contains tools and small objects you can carry
Each tab uses a simple icon system: green icons = item available and unclaimed; red icons = another player already owns it; gray icons = feature requires Brookhaven Premium.

On mobile, the menu works the same way but uses touch-friendly buttons with larger icons and swipeable lists. Console players on Xbox or PlayStation use the D-pad and action buttons to navigate the same menu structure.

Your First Minutes
When you load into Brookhaven, you appear somewhere in the middle of town. The map covers a residential neighborhood, a downtown commercial area, a hospital, police station, school, and several hidden locations you'll discover while exploring. The town is large enough to feel alive but compact enough to navigate without getting properly lost.
Your first action should be to claim a house. Without a house, you have no personal space to decorate, store vehicles, or host roleplay scenarios.

What Are Gamepasses?
Gamepasses are permanent benefits purchased through Robux via the in-game Gamepass Shop or directly on the Roblox game page. Once purchased, they stay with your account forever. There are currently 15 general gamepasses.

3. HOUSE SYSTEM
Claiming Your First House
Press M and click the Houses tab to see a list of all properties in the server. Empty houses show a green house icon. Click any empty house to claim it. The house sign outside will change to show your username, and the doors will lock automatically.
Your claimed house stays yours until you leave the server or claim a different house. If you disconnect, you lose ownership. Always lock your doors after claiming by checking the house settings in the Houses tab. Unlocked houses let any player enter and interact with your furniture.
A common mistake is claiming a house near the spawn point. These get taken quickly because every new player sees them first. Look for houses in quieter neighborhoods if you want to keep your property for a full session.
Tip: Don't overthink the first pick — you can switch houses at any time from the same menu without losing anything.
House Types
There are multiple neighborhoods in Brookhaven, each with different house styles:
- Downtown area: apartments and small homes
- Suburban areas: larger family houses with garages

Free Houses: All 47 free houses are fully functional starting points. You can place furniture, customize walls and floors, and use the space however your roleplay demands. The furniture library has hundreds of items: plants, artwork, rugs, lighting, bookshelves, kitchen appliances, and themed sets.
Premium Houses: The Estates Pass (799 Robux) unlocks mansion-tier properties — a White House replica, a military compound, and a glass mansion, among others. Underground House: One of the most popular options for spy and heist roleplay scenarios. Go inside and head to the underground section, walk behind the TV, and click the orange/yellow button to open a secret vault.
Interior Customization
House customization happens through the Build Mode system. Enter your house, open the M menu, and select the Items tab. You can place furniture, wall decorations, lighting, and themed objects. To change wall colors and flooring, look for the paintbrush icon in the house menu.
There are preset themes you can apply instantly:
- Free themes: modern, rustic, beach, dark
- Premium themes: luxury, cyber, seasonal options

Important: You can place props outside your house too, creating garden setups and outdoor roleplay areas. Note that if you want decorations to save between sessions, you need a private server — on public servers, all placed props reset when you leave.

Build Mode
Build Mode is the advanced editing system for your house. Access it by clicking the Build Mode button in the Items tab. In this mode, you can place objects freely, resize them, rotate them, and move them to exact positions. Build Mode is available to all players for free.
To place an item, select it from the catalog and click inside your house. Use the arrow keys to rotate the object. Hold Shift while resizing to keep proportions. Some objects can stack on top of each other — this is how players create custom bunk beds, hidden rooms, and unique furniture combinations.
Build Mode has a placement limit per house. Small houses allow fewer objects than mansions. If you hit the limit, delete old items before placing new ones. The limit resets if you change themes, so save your layouts in storage boxes first.

Moods (Animations)

Animation packs are available both free and through Premium. Free packs include basic emotions: happy, sad, angry, scared. 6. JOBS & PROFESSIONS
How Do Jobs Work in Brookhaven RP?
Jobs in Brookhaven RP are character roles you equip for identity and roleplay purposes. They don't affect progression stats or unlock gameplay abilities. Instead, they broadcast your character's occupation to every other player in the server through a visible job icon that floats above your character's head.
This icon updates instantly whenever you change or remove a role.
Where to Find the Jobs Menu
Access jobs through the Avatar menu, also called the Character Bio section. Click the Jobs icon to browse all available roles. Selecting any job assigns it to your character immediately. No confirmation screen, no cooldown.
Jobs can also be picked up directly inside certain in-game stores. When you enter a store that supports this, a job icon appears within the store's interface. Clicking it assigns the matching role on the spot.
Important: You can only hold one active job at a time. Switching to a new job automatically replaces your current one.
Job Interface

What Is a Private Server in Brookhaven RP?

How to Build Stories That Keep Everyone Engaged
Every strong Brookhaven story needs four elements:
- Conflict — a crime, a mystery, a rivalry, or a crisis that gives characters something to react to
- Personal goals — each character wants something specific, not just to exist in the scene
- A twist — surprise other players mid-session to reset the energy and raise stakes
- Resolution — close the story with something definitive, whether that's an arrest, a revelation, or a celebration
If you're playing with friends, sketch a loose storyline before joining the server. Assign roles, agree on a central conflict, and leave room for improvisation.
House Setups for Roleplay
Modern Luxury: Clean walls, minimal furniture, large pools, and a garage stocked with sports cars or a limousine. Works perfectly for celebrity life, business mogul, or high-society scenarios. Use bright lighting throughout and leave open floor space to suggest wealth.
Cottage Cozy: Warm lighting, plants on every surface, rustic furniture, and a kitchen that actually looks used. Ideal for family RP or slice-of-life stories. The smaller starter homes suit this theme better than the mansions.
Haunted Manor: Dim every light source, fill rooms with fog where possible, and hide interactive items like hidden keys and secret buttons behind furniture. The Haunted Mansion property added in the October update was purpose-built for this theme.
Futuristic Hideout: Neon accent lighting, tech furniture, GPS units, radio devices, and a hidden room styled as a secret lab. Pairs naturally with the Secret Agency scenario.
Smart decoration rules that apply to every theme:
- Place furniture along natural walking paths so movement feels organic
- Use different lighting in each room to signal mood shifts
- Hide interactive story items in logical locations (a safe in the office, medical supplies in the bathroom)
- Add personal detail items like trophies, books, or photos to suggest a lived-in history
Roleplay Etiquette
- Stay in character consistently. Breaking character mid-scene disrupts everyone's immersion.
- Match your vehicle to your role. A police motorcycle reads differently from a family minivan.
- Use proper grammar in dialogue-heavy scenes. It signals commitment and makes scenes easier to follow.
- Commit to your character's personality throughout the full session, not just the opening scene.
- Respect other players' stories. Collaboration beats competition in every RP context.
- Never pressure another player into a scenario they haven't agreed to.
- Use OOC (out-of-character) markers when you need to step outside the fiction: "(OOC: can we adjust the scenario?)" is widely understood.
- Avoid interrupting active roleplay scenes in public servers without a polite opener.
How to Join Existing Groups
Watch the server chat for open invitations — messages like "looking for family RP" or "anyone want to work at the café" are direct signals that a group is open to new members. Walk up to them, send a polite message asking to join, and most players will welcome you if you signal you'll stay in character.
For more organized scenarios, Discord-based Brookhaven communities are the serious player's tool. Groups plan storylines before joining a shared private server, assign roles in advance, and maintain ongoing plotlines across multiple sessions.

7. SECRET LOCATIONS & EASTER EGGS
The Secret Vault (Underground House)
One of the most popular hidden spots, frequently used for spy and heist roleplay:
- Select the Underground House as your home
- Head downstairs into the underground section
- Walk behind the television set
- Spot the orange/yellow button and click it
- The vault door swings open, revealing the vault interior
Invite friends before opening it to set up a scene.
Hospital Hidden Rooms (St. Luke's Hospital)
Via the Lobby:
- Enter through the hospital's main entrance
- Grab a ladder from your inventory
- Locate the broken wall section above the front desk
- Place the ladder beneath it, climb up, and pass through
Via the Emergency Room Roof:
- Climb onto the emergency room roof (a ladder helps)
- Cross to the opposite side
- Enter through the broken window to access the same hidden room from outside
Secret Room inside the X-Ray Room:
- Enter the hospital and find the X-ray room
- Jump behind the skeleton image on the wall
- Walk through the wall to enter the hidden room
- Once inside, look underneath the desk for a blue button
- Press it to trigger a hidden interaction
- To exit, interact with the small wooden stool and press the blue button again to teleport out
Warning: If you press the blue button without noting the exit stool first, you may have trouble getting back.
Yacht's Hidden Weapon Room
Head to Lake Madison:
- Board the Yacht at Lake Madison
- Go down to the lower deck
- Enter the bathroom
- Walk into the shower and pass through the back wall
- A hidden room containing weapons is waiting inside
While on the yacht, walk along the right side near the railing until you fall through the floor. Move toward the back of the ship and look underneath to find a sign reading "Wolfpaq was here!" — a nod from one of the game's developers.
Below the Fountain
This secret sits right at the spawn area but almost nobody finds it:
- Enter the Downtown subway near the spawn fountain
- Look at the subway wall and click the city icon
- Walk into the right side of the wall
- Keep walking until you arrive in a hidden area directly beneath the fountain
- To leave, walk back into the wall and press the green button
Cabin Attic at Summer Camp
- Travel to the Summer Camp area
- Enter any cabin and go into the bathroom
- Stand on top of the shower
- Jump upward into the ceiling to clip into the attic space
The attic is a great quiet spot for private roleplay scenes away from the main town.
Grave at Brookhaven Cemetery
- Head to Brookhaven Cemetery
- Stand in front of the third grave from the left
- Jump directly into the grave
- An Easter egg is revealed inside
Fun fact: The coffin inside is labeled as property of "the Agency", hinting at the game's broader mystery lore. In Extreme Mode of the Easter Egg Hunt, egg #13 has you literally drop into a grave marked with the stone "Let me out NOW!"
Buggstra Was Here Easter Egg (The Mall)
- Go to Haven Plaza (the mall)
- Head upstairs to Rosie's Gym
- Look at the wall near the desk
This area features an angel version of Rosie the Cat, a tribute to a cat belonging to content creator OnlyOneGam3r (O1G). Rosie passed away and developer Wolfpaq added this reference in her honor. One of the most touching Easter eggs in the game.
The House with Two Secrets
First Secret:
- Go downstairs near the arcade machines
- Find the small platform or button next to a pillar beside the bookshelves
- Click it to open a ramp leading to a hidden basement room
Second Secret:
- Obtain a computer item
- Sit in all available chairs throughout the house
- Go behind the pillar in the back-left or back-right corner
- Click the white button at the top
- Head to the front-left or front-right wall, which will now open
Inside this second room, look at the Happy Burger meal on display. The text on the fries reads "Burger Barn" — a nod to the in-game fast food restaurant.
Agency Bunker
One of the most lore-significant locations in Brookhaven:
- Head to the Gas Station on the right side
- A hidden entrance becomes accessible, leading into the bunker
This ties directly into the game's ongoing mystery storyline. The coffin in the cemetery labeled as Agency property, the hidden Agency Room under the Power Plant, and this bunker all point to a larger connected narrative.
Power Plant (Power Plant Update)
Brookhaven's largest and most complex secret location. Located near Brookhaven Airport, it replaced the older Brookhaven Electric building.
Agency Room under the Power Plant:
- Navigate to the Reactor Room inside the Power Plant
- Find the manholes and corridors leading downward
- You'll need a Blue Key Card, located in Cell #2 of the Police Station
- Inside, Agency computers and equipment confirm this location's role in the game's hidden lore
Triggering the Meltdown Event:
- Use C4 near the reactor
- Pull the levers in the waste room
- Shut down the cooling valves
- Sirens and warning lights will activate
- Interact with the reactor core to receive a Green Crystal
Note: The Green Crystal currently has no known function. Its purpose remains undiscovered, suggesting it may play a role in future content updates or tie into the game's deeper mystery arc.
Other Secret Locations (from guidespot.com)
The Criminal Base: Located behind the police station. Walk around the back wall and look for a breakable section. Crouch or use a small character to enter the hidden tunnel. Inside you'll find a small room with criminal-themed props.
The Secret Room in the School: Enter the school building and go to the second floor. There is a breakable wall in the hallway near the lockers. Use an emote or jump repeatedly to break through. The room contains school-themed furniture and posters.
The Underground Tunnel: Find the tunnel entrance near the highway overpass. It's disguised as a maintenance door. The tunnel connects to the criminal base and ends near the hospital. A popular route for escape roleplay scenarios.
The Hidden Pool Room: In the hillside mansion area, one of the luxury homes has a hidden pool room behind a bookshelf. Enter the house, go to the library, and interact with the bookshelf. It slides open to reveal an indoor pool area.
The Abandoned Warehouse: Near the industrial zone, there's a warehouse with a locked door. Use the police role or find a key prop to enter. Inside are industrial crates and a hidden office area suitable for detective roleplay.
Rooftop Access: Several downtown buildings have rooftop access via fire escapes or hidden ladders. The hospital and the apartment complex both have climbable sections. Rooftops are great for news reporter or surveillance roleplay.
Sewer Entrance: Near the park area, look for a manhole cover. Stand on it and interact to enter the sewer system. The sewers are a network of tunnels that connect to the underground tunnel and the criminal base.
14. AGENCY LORE & SECRET NARRATIVE
Brookhaven has an ongoing mystery narrative that the community has been piecing together over time. Lore elements include:
- Coffin in the Cemetery: labeled as property of "the Agency"
- Agency Bunker: hidden entrance behind the gas station
- Agency Room under the Power Plant: accessible with Blue Key Card from Cell #2 of the Police Station; Agency computers and equipment confirm the connection
- Green Crystal: obtained by completing the Power Plant meltdown event; purpose currently unknown, possibly tied to future updates
All of these elements point to a larger connected narrative that the developers appear to be building gradually across updates.

5. VEHICLES
How Many Vehicles Are There?
Brookhaven RP currently features over 190 vehicles across five major categories: street vehicles, small vehicles, work vehicles, boats, and air vehicles. The roster also includes a dedicated event category for limited-time and seasonal rides.
The top speed achievable in the game is 200 mph, reached by high-end options like the Jet.
Vehicle Categories
Small Vehicles (22 entries): Includes bicycles, scooters, horses, a skateboard, a wheelchair, and novelty items like the Pogo Stick (VIP Pack required) and the Party Bike (Premium). Most small vehicles despawn when you dismount.
Horses are a standout sub-group:
- Normal Horse and Original Horse: both free
- Horse Upgrade gamepass: unlocks five additional breeds — Akhal Horse, Shire Horse, Friesian Horse, Clydesdale Horse, and Mini Horse
- A rideable Donkey is also included in the Horse Upgrade
Free small vehicles worth using:
- Scooter (electric compact, great for short trips)
- Bike / Girls Bike / Tandem Bike / Cargo Bike (all free)
- Skateboard (casual movement with a classic look)
- Wheelchair and Baby Walker (useful for accessibility-themed and baby roleplay)

How to Get and Spawn Vehicles
Press M and open the Vehicles tab. You'll see a grid of all available vehicles. Click any vehicle to spawn it near your location. If you're inside a house with a garage, the vehicle appears in the garage. If outside, it spawns on the nearest road.
Some vehicles are restricted to specific roles: the police car spawns with working sirens if you have the police outfit equipped. The fire truck requires the firefighter outfit. The ambulance works with the medical outfit.

Most event vehicles become VIP-exclusive after their event ends. Some collaboration vehicles, such as the Wicked Collaboration Wheelchair, are permanently unobtainable.
Flying Bike Glitch
Lightly bump a bike into the side of the spawn fountain. If the wheels partially clip under the map geometry, tilt your camera upward and move forward. The bike will begin to fly. Not guaranteed every session since it depends on collision behavior.
