Anime Expeditions β€” Units

Units Hub Overview

A Unit refers to a singular instance of a character that can be used within the game. Units are primarily obtainable through Summon, in which you exchange various currencies for a chance at certain units. During a Stage, a unit's primary use is to protect the player's base by attacking enemies on the track. To do this, units typically operate on an attack cycle built on an SPA (Second Per Attack) stat and a Range (the effective area a unit can target in) stat. Additionally, every attacking unit has a Damage stat that usually pertains to the damage of their attacks.

Not every unit attacks; some units are responsible for alternative mechanics that do not involve attacking, such as generating Yen or applying Buffs to other units. Additionally, certain units may operate absent of any number of their stats; for example, a unit may attack without regarding its range.

Units are often categorized with greater types (Rarity, Elements, Archetypes) and may be further sorted through more specific mechanics.

Ways to strengthen Units

  • Stat Values are permanent values assigned to a unit that apply a percentage change to a unit's base stat value. Units come with random Stat Values and the player may reroll them.
  • Traits are permanent enhancements to a unit that apply a large variety of effects to a singular copy of a unit. At the cost of Trait Rerolls, a Trait can be rolled & then rerolled.
  • Equipment are equippable items that have built-in stat values & passives for the enhancement of the equipping unit. Certain units have special, rarer equipment that may alter and/or add to their passives.

Trivia

  • Shadow (Divine) is inspired by Megumi Fushiguro from Jujutsu Kaisen.
    • Specifically, in his most common appearance, equipped with the Jet-Black Shadow Sword Cursed Tool.
  • The Ten Shadows Technique is Megumi's inherited cursed technique, which allows him to summon and control Shikigami (cursed spirit familiars) formed from shadows, each with unique abilities that can be used in combat.
  • Shadow (Divine)'s passive names contain various references to the character of Megumi and his Ten Shadows Technique.
    • Winged Spirit is a reference to Megumi Fushiguro's Shikigami, Nue.
      • Nue is a winged cursed shikigami summoned from Megumi's Ten Shadows Technique, typically used for aerial support and lightning-based attacks.
    • Wolf Spirit is a reference to Divine Dog: Totality.
      • Divine Dogs are a pair of shikigami from the Ten Shadows Technique that can combine into a stronger unified form called Totality after one is lost or fused.
  • Shadow (Divine)'s ability names also contain various references to the character of Megumi.
    • Shadow Realm is a reference to Megumi's incomplete Domain Expansion, Chimera Shadow Garden.
      • Domain Expansions are advanced cursed techniques that create a separate space where a sorcerer's abilities are amplified and given guaranteed effect.
    • Divine Spirit is a reference to Mahoraga, the most powerful shikigami of the Ten Shadows Technique.
      • Mahoraga is an extremely powerful yet versatile shikigami capable of adapting to any attack or phenomenon. Throughout its history, no user of the Cursed Technique has ever been able to tame it, with the sole exception of Sukuna.

Trivia

  • Shadow is inspired by Megumi Fushiguro from Jujutsu Kaisen.
    • Specifically, in his most common appearance, equipped with the Jet-Black Shadow Sword Cursed Tool.

(This page's Trivia section is a shorter subset of the Shadow (Divine) Trivia β€” it does not repeat the Ten Shadows Technique, Winged Spirit/Nue, Wolf Spirit/Divine Dogs, Shadow Realm/Chimera Shadow Garden, or Divine Spirit/Mahoraga references, which only appear on the evolved Shadow (Divine) page.)

8th Sword

8th Sword is a Secret unit released on July 17th, 2026, for the Release (0.0) of Anime Expeditions. Its core typings are Neutral and Physical. It evolves into 8th Sword (Berserk).

Trivia

  • 8th Sword is inspired by Kenpachi Zaraki from Bleach.
    • Specifically, in his damaged Shihakusho after getting blasted with lightning by Candice Catnipp.
  • 8th Sword's Shiny model is inspired by Kenpachi's Bankai during one of his fights in the Thousand-Year Blood War Arc (major spoilers).
    • Bankai is the final "release" of a Shinigami coming from a strong and deeply trained bond with their sword, called Zanpakuto.
  • The demonic features β€” specifically his red skin and growing tusks β€” are a visual reference to an Oni, a terrifying ogre or demon rooted heavily in Japanese folklore. Both the appearance and uncontrollable nature of the form mirror Zaraki's monstrous bloodlust and savage, berserker fighting style.
    • Pushing his body past its physical limitations floods his system with a massive, volatile surge of Reiatsu (spiritual pressure), which manifests outwardly as a demonic flush. This influx of spiritual pressure has led to Zaraki even injuring himself by releasing too much power.

8th Sword (Berserk)

8th Sword (Berserk) is a Secret unit released on July 17th, 2026, for the Release (0.0) of Anime Expeditions. Its core typings are Neutral and Physical. This unit focuses on dealing unrelenting damage to enemies in its range, as well as inflicting Dismembered to keep them in range for longer.

Placement Limit: 2

Unit Passives

Demonic Presence Enemies within 40% range will take 5% of this unit's current damage every 1 second.

Savage Rebound When this unit is stunned:

  • Immediately Cleanse the stun
  • Follow-Up Attack (Thunderclap Cut) at 100% current damage
  • All of this unit's Follow-Up Attacks apply Dismembered to enemies

Dismemberer's Rush When an enemy in range goes below 10% health:

  • Follow-Up Attack (Unrestrained Rampage) at 100% of this unit's current damage

The Nameless Demon After 25 Takedowns this unit will enter Berserk State for 15 seconds:

  • Increase DMG by 20%
  • Decrease SPA by 10%
  • Apply Dismembered on every attack

(No Unit Ability entries are listed for this form β€” 8th Sword (Berserk) appears to be an all-passive kit, unlike Shadow (Divine) which gained two activatable Unit Abilities on evolution. The Attacks & Upgrades table below (UPG 0–10) also shows no "New Ability" unlock notes, reinforcing this.)

Obtainment

Spirit City Raid - Act 3 β€” Obtain 8th Sword by clearing Spirit City Raid Act 3 with a 1% chance of their dropping. Additionally there is a one-time pity of 35 completions.

(Note: the source page's Obtainment text says "Obtain 8th Sword," not "8th Sword (Berserk)" β€” this looks like it may just be copy-pasted verbatim from the base 8th Sword page rather than describing a separate obtain method for the Berserk form. Likely 8th Sword (Berserk) is obtained by evolving the base 8th Sword, per the Evolution section below, and this Obtainment block is a residual/inherited copy on the wiki itself rather than a new information point. Flagging as a possible source inconsistency rather than resolving it silently.)

Both the appearance and uncontrollable nature of the form mirror Zaraki's monstrous bloodlust and savage, berserker fighting style.

Also note quantities are smaller here (x5 / x1 vs. x20 / x3) and Gold cost is lower (5,000 vs. 10,000) β€” consistent with Exclusive being a lower rarity than Secret.)

Toy Maker

Toy Maker is an Exclusive unit released on July 17th, 2026, for the Release (0.0) of Anime Expeditions. Its core typings are Dark and Psychic. This unit does not attack traditionally; instead, for every attack, it will instead summon Toys that are strengthened via upgrades & expand to every path.

Placement Limit: 1

(Note: the typing icon row shows three icons β€” Psychic, Dark, and a third clock/hourglass-style icon whose category isn't labeled in text on this page, unlike other units where the icon set matched exactly the two stated typings. Possibly a summoner/mechanic-type icon rather than a third typing. Preserved as observed rather than guessed at.)

Unit Passive

Build-a-toy This unit will summon Toy on all paths in this unit's range instead of attacking.

  • Toys will have 100% of this unit's current damage as health
  • Upgrade 2: Toys gain 15% movement speed
  • Upgrade 4: Toys deal 10% of their max health as AoE damage on death
  • Upgrade 6: Every 5th cycle of summons, Toy is mutated, increasing health by 150%
  • Toys can spawn on all paths in this unit's range. The summons' health is divided by the number of paths they spawn on.

Obtainment

Release Tournament β€” Obtain Toy Maker by participating in the Release Tournament.

(A third distinct obtain method vs. what's been seen so far: Secret-tier units came from Banner summons or Raid drops; True Saint came from a login calendar; Toy Maker comes from tournament participation.)

Trivia

  • Crimson is inspired by Choso from Jujutsu Kaisen.
    • Specifically, in his most common appearance.
  • Crimson's Shiny model is inspired by Choso's appearance during one of his fights in the Culling Game Arc (major spoilers).
    • The exaggerated marks on its face β€” when compared to the base model β€” is a reference to one of Choso's abilities, Flowing Red Scale. This ability derives from Choso's cursed technique (an innate power within the Jujutsu Kaisen universe), Blood Manipulation, which grants the user control over their own blood to manipulate it in unnatural ways. Flowing Red Scale focuses on the user's internal blood by boosting the rate at which it flows & pumps oxygen, drastically improving physical strength. This ability intensifies the marks on Choso's face.

Crimson (Brother)

Crimson (Brother) is an Exclusive unit released on July 17th, 2026, for the Release (0.0) of Anime Expeditions. Its core typings are Dark and Magical. This unit inflicts Bleed on every attack, but it multiplies its damage output with varied extra mechanics sourced from its unique Crimson Mark.

Placement Limit: 2

(Same unexplained icon set as base Crimson: Magical, Dark, a clock/hourglass icon, and a red lightning icon, despite only two typings being stated in text.)

Unit Passives

Crimson Explosion On Regular Attack:

  • Inflict enemies with Crimson Mark
  • Crimson Marked enemies will Crimson Explode after 5 seconds dealing 15% of this unit's current damage.

Crimson Pool When Crimson Explode activates:

  • Leave a Crimson Pool on the ground for 6 seconds (Capacity: 3)
  • Enemies walking on Crimson Pool will take 10% of this unit's current damage every 2 seconds

Unit Ability (preview)

  • Enemies in Piercing Crimson will: Take 75% of this unit's damage every 1 second; Be inflicted with Crimson Mark
  • This unit will not Attack whilst this ability is active.

Attack Types

This is the first unit documented with multiple distinct named attacks (rather than a single uniform attack) β€” each with its own AoE profile:

Obtainment

Spirit City Raid - Act 2 β€” Obtain Reaper by clearing Spirit City Raid Act 2 with a 5% chance of their dropping. Additionally there is a one-time pity of 20 completions.

Consistent with being obtained by evolving the raid-dropped base Reaper. Also note: this is Act 2 of Spirit City Raid, whereas 8th Sword's line uses Act 3 of the same raid β€” first confirmation that Spirit City Raid has at least 2 acts, each dropping a different unit line.)

Trivia

  • Reaper (Released) is inspired by Ichigo Kurosaki from Bleach.
    • Specifically, in his appearance wearing the Tentoken during his arrival at Sokyoku Hill to interrupt Rukia Kuchiki's execution.
    • The Tentoken was given to Ichigo by Yoruichi Shihoin during the Ryoka Invasion. It is a relic that belongs to the Shihoin noble family, allowing the wearer to fly and navigate through the air.
  • Reaper (Released)'s passive names also contain various references to the character of Ichigo.
    • Adaptation is a reference to Ichigo's uncanny ability to instinctively adapt to his opponents' powers and evolve his own combat capabilities.
      • During the Quincy Blood War, Yhwach classified Ichigo as one of the Five Special War Powers because of his unparalleled growth rate and ability to rapidly adapt to his opponents.
      • This trait allows Ichigo to constantly break past his limits mid-combat, seamlessly integrating his Shinigami, Hollow, and Quincy powers (three distinct races within Bleach whose powers normally belong to separate groups of beings) to overcome seemingly insurmountable threats.
    • Mirage Swap is a reference to Ichigo's overwhelming speed using Shunpo (Flash Step) during his battle against Byakuya Kuchiki.
      • Flash Step is a high-speed movement technique that allows users to move so quickly that they appear to teleport or leave afterimages behind.
      • Upon activating his Bankai (the final and most powerful release of a Soul Reaper's Zanpakuto) for the first time in the Soul Society arc, Ichigo achieved such extreme speed that he left behind continuous afterimages.
      • He used this immense speed to instantly vanish from Byakuya's sight and effortlessly evade all millions of blades from Senbonzakura Kageyoshi, essentially "swapping" places with his own mirages to disorient his opponent.
    • Mirage Step is also a reference to Shunpo.

Trivia

  • Lady Giant is inspired by Diane from The Seven Deadly Sins.
    • Specifically, in her Armor 10 years ago as a Holy Knight.
    • A Holy Knight is a high-ranking elite warrior order in The Seven Deadly Sins who serve as the primary military force of their respective kingdoms in Britannia. Each Holy Knight possesses extraordinary magical abilities and/or physical strength, often powerful enough to rival entire armies.
  • Lady Giant can also be seen wielding a weapon inspired by the War Hammer Gideon.
    • It is Diane's Sacred Treasure, and is capable of fully drawing out her various powers as a member of the Giant Clan.

Mythic tier β€” 8 of 17 units documented (String Demon, String Demon (Awakened), Reaper (Released), Salmon Sorcerer, Salmon Sorcerer (Grade 1), Puppet, Puppet (Telekinetic), Lady Giant).

Lady Giant (Envy)

Lady Giant (Envy) is a Mythic unit released on July 17th, 2026, for the Release (0.0) of Anime Expeditions. Its core typings are Terra and Physical. This unit provides versatile damage output with Follow-Up Attacks, stationary Stone Walls, and a temporary self-buff.

Placement Limit: 4

(Important: this resolves the icon mismatch flagged on the base Lady Giant page. That page's icons showed a dark red trident-style icon and a red/orange gem icon while its text stated "Light and Magical" β€” but here, on the evolved form, the same-looking icons are paired with the text "Terra and Physical." This strongly suggests the base Lady Giant page's stated typings text ["Light and Magical"] is a copy-paste error, and Lady Giant's actual typings are Terra and Physical, matching its icons and matching this evolved form. New typing confirmed: "Terra" β€” previously catalogued typings are Dark, Magical, Light, Physical, Neutral, Psychic, Gale.)

Trivia

  • Elf Mage is inspired by Frieren from Frieren: Beyond Journey's End.
    • Specifically, in her most common appearance.
  • Elf Mage's Arcane Spells also contain various references to Frieren's signature offensive magic Techniques.
    • Voltraak is a reference to Offensive Magic: Zoltraak.
      • A concentrated mana-based projectile spell that fires either a single large blast or multiple smaller shots, forming the foundation of modern offensive magic in Frieren: Beyond Journey's End.
    • Vhalzanbel is a reference to Hellfire Summoning: Vollzanbel.
      • A wide-area fire spell that generates a massive inferno directly in front of the caster, used for large-scale destruction.
    • Jundrathym is a reference to Destructive Lightning: Judradjim.
      • A lightning spell that releases multiple bolts across a wide area from the caster's staff.

(Note: the Trivia section names three spells β€” Voltraak, Vhalzanbel, Jundrathym β€” as the references being explained, but these exact names don't appear anywhere in the Unit Passive block above, which instead names the in-game spells "Old Magic," "Eruption," and "Storm." It's not fully clear from what's captured whether Voltraak/Vhalzanbel/Jundrathym are alternate/internal names for Old Magic/Eruption/Storm respectively, or something else entirely. Preserved both sections exactly as shown rather than guessing at the mapping.)

Elf Mage (Unleashed)

Elf Mage (Unleashed) is a Mythic unit released on July 17th, 2026, for the Release (0.0) of Anime Expeditions. Its core typings are stated as Light and Magical. This unit is designed around a Unit Meter that enhances this unit's damage output with powerful Follow-Up Attacks.

(Note: the base Elf Mage page states typings "Storm and Magical," but this evolved page states "Light and Magical" β€” a different pair, not just a text-vs-icon mismatch like the Lady Giant case, but an apparent change/inconsistency in the typings text itself between the two forms of the same unit line. The icon row here shows three icons rather than two, adding to the ambiguity. Preserved exactly as each page states it rather than assuming one is correct.)

(Identical passive kit to the base Elf Mage page β€” including the same "Storm" spell name inside Arcane Spells, despite this page's stated typing no longer including "Storm." Another data point suggesting the "Light and Magical" typing text on this page may be the inconsistent one, since the kit itself is unchanged and still storm-themed.)

Cursed Student (True Love) is a Mythic unit released on July 17th, 2026, for the Release (0.0) of Anime Expeditions. Its core typings are Dark and Physical. This unit inflicts Bleed on every attack and further enhances its application potential with Follow-Ups and Unit Summons.

Placement Limit: 3

Unit Passives

Cursed Mimicry Every 3 Regular Attacks:

  • Follow Up with a copy of an attack of the closest unit in range
  • The Follow-Up Attack will deal: 100% this unit's current damage plus 40% of the closest unit's current damage On New Attack:
  • Follow-Up Attack percentage of closest unit is increased by 20%

Spirit Bats Every 20 total stacks of {{Effect|Bleed}} in this unit's range:

  • Summon a Bat Spirit at this unit's position (Capacity: 3)
  • Bat Spirits will deal 15% of this unit's current damage per attack
  • Bat Spirits despawn after 3 attacks

(Note: "{{Effect|Bleed}}" appears to be unrendered wiki template markup left visible on the source page β€” normally this would just display as "Bleed." Preserved exactly as captured rather than silently cleaned up, since it's evidence of how the source page is literally structured.)

Obtainment

Standard/Mini Banner β€” Obtain this unit by summoning on the Standard/Mini Banner at a 0.5% chance, pity: 400.

(Another instance of the now-familiar stat trade-off pattern: DPS dips slightly from UPG 6 [196.00] to UPG 7 [195.57] despite Damage and Cost both increasing normally, due to SPA worsening from 5.5 to 7. Consistent with the pattern already confirmed on the Flame Emperor and Elf Mage lines.)

Trivia

  • Cursed Student (True Love) is inspired by Yuta Okkotsu from Jujutsu Kaisen.
    • Specifically, in his most common appearance.
  • Cursed Student (True Love) is also accompanied by an entity resembling Rika.
    • Rika is a cursed spirit manifestation tied to Yuta Okkotsu. She is the lingering will of Rika Orimoto, existing to protect Yuta and serving as his combat partner and major source of Cursed Energy.
  • Cursed Student (True Love)'s passive names also contain various references to the character of Yuta.
    • Cursed Mimicry is a reference to Yuta's Innate Technique, Copy, which allows him to replicate the innate techniques of other sorcerers after Rika consumes part of their body.

Mythic tier β€” 17 of 17 units documented (String Demon, String Demon (Awakened), Reaper (Released), Salmon Sorcerer, Salmon Sorcerer (Grade 1), Puppet, Puppet (Telekinetic), Lady Giant, Lady Giant (Envy), Hollow, Hollow (Blaze), Flame Emperor, Flame Emperor (Reincarnate), Elf Mage, Elf Mage (Unleashed), Cursed Student, Cursed Student (True Love)). Complete β€” Reaper (Released)'s base form, Reaper, turned out to belong to the Legendary tier instead (see that section below), which is why it was never going to appear here.

Legendary Tier

Legendary tier units listed (8): Forbidden Teacher, Greed, Ice Queen, Ramen Guy, Scissor, Reaper, The Hero, Water Princess.

(Note: unlike the Secret, Exclusive, and Mythic tiers, this roster list shows only single icons β€” no visible base/evolved pairs in the list itself, though individual unit pages may still reveal an Evolution section. Also note: "Reaper" appears as a name in this list, which is the same name already documented as a Mythic-tier unit line [Reaper β†’ Reaper (Released)] above. This could be: (a) a coincidental name reuse for an unrelated Legendary unit, (b) a mislabeled icon, or (c) evidence Reaper actually belongs to a different tier than assumed. Flagged rather than resolved β€” worth clarifying if a "Legendary Reaper" page is captured separately from the Mythic one already documented. Additionally, the first unit's name was partially cut off in the source screenshot and is transcribed here as "Forbidden Teacher" based on the visible text, but this reading is not fully certain and should be verified against that unit's own page.)

Water Princess

Water Princess is a Legendary unit released on July 17th, 2026, for the Release Update (0.0) of Anime Expeditions. Its core typings are Hydro and Magical. This unit selects the unit nearest to it and protects it with a "shield," defending from one debuff or attack.

(New typing confirmed: "Hydro." Typings catalogued so far: Dark, Magical, Light, Physical, Neutral, Psychic, Gale, Terra, Flame, Storm, Hydro. Also note: this page's release phrasing is "Release Update (0.0)," slightly different wording from the "Release (0.0)" phrasing used on every Secret/Exclusive/Mythic unit page seen so far β€” likely just a minor copy variance, not a meaningful distinction.)

Placement Limit: 3

Unit Passive

Sea Dragon Shield This unit grants a shield to the nearest unit within range:

  • Shield is destroyed after blocking a Debuff or Enemy Attack
  • Shield regenerates after 15 seconds

Obtainment

Standard/Mini Banner β€” Obtain this unit by summoning on the Standard/Mini Banner at a 10% chance, pity: 50.

(First Legendary-tier rate documented: 10% / pity 50 β€” notably more generous than every Mythic-tier rate seen so far [all 0.5% / pity 400], consistent with Legendary being a lower rarity than Mythic.)

Trivia

  • Water Princess is inspired by Noelle Silva from Black Clover.
  • Water Princess's passive names also contain various references to the character of Noelle.
    • Sea Dragon Shield is a reference to the spell Sea Dragon's Nest, a water-based Creation Magic spell which protects those encompassed within it.

Legendary tier β€” 1 of 8 units documented (Water Princess).

The Hero

The Hero is a Legendary unit released on July 17th, 2026, for the Release Update (0.0) of Anime Expeditions. Its core typing is Physical, as this unit has no Element. This unit is a range-based Physical buffer, increasing its efficacy per upgrade.

Placement Limit: 4

(MAJOR CLARIFICATION on the typing system, from this page's own wording: units apparently have two separate typing axes β€” an "Element" [e.g., Dark, Light, Flame, Storm, Terra, Gale, Hydro, Neutral] and something else that Physical/Magical/Psychic belong to [not explicitly named on this page, but functions as a second, always-present typing]. The Hero explicitly "has no Element," and correspondingly shows only ONE icon in its typing row [a single trident-style Physical icon] instead of the usual two. This retroactively explains why every other unit so far has shown exactly two typing words in its stated text. It does NOT fully explain the extra, unlabeled third/fourth icons seen earlier on Toy Maker, Crimson, and Crimson (Brother) β€” those still don't match this two-slot [Element + Physical/Magical/Psychic-type] model cleanly, so that mystery remains open. Worth checking a dedicated Elements or Archetypes page, if one is captured, to get the official name for the Physical/Magical/Psychic axis.)

Unit Passive

Hero Blessing Apply Damage Buff to all Physical units within range Increased by 5% each upgrade.

Obtainment

Standard/Mini Banner β€” Obtain this unit by summoning on the Standard/Mini Banner at a 10% chance, pity: 50.

(Range stays flat at 12 across every upgrade β€” same pattern seen on Toy Maker. No Evolution section and no Unit Ability shown β€” another apparent non-evolving unit, like Water Princess and Toy Maker.)

Trivia

  • The Hero is inspired by Himmel from Frieren: Beyond Journey's End.
  • The Hero's passive names also contain various references to the character of Himmel.
    • Hero Blessing is a reference to Himmel's role as the Hero of legend in Frieren: Beyond Journey's End. It reflects his selfless and idealized heroic nature, characterized by his willingness to help others without hesitation, his strong sense of duty, and the lasting inspiration he's known to leave behind.

Legendary tier β€” 2 of 8 units documented (Water Princess, The Hero).

Reaper

Reaper is a Legendary unit released on July 17th, 2026, for the Release Update (0.0) of Anime Expeditions. Its core typings are Light and Physical. It evolves into Reaper (Released).

Placement Limit: 3

(MAJOR FINDING β€” resolves both the naming-conflict flag and the "missing Reaper base form" gap from the Mythic tier section above: this Legendary-tier "Reaper" is the exact same base unit that evolves into "Reaper (Released)," which was already fully documented under the Mythic tier earlier in this document. This confirms base and evolved forms of a unit can sit in DIFFERENT rarity tiers β€” the base Reaper is Legendary, but its evolved form Reaper (Released) is Mythic. This is the first confirmed case of a cross-tier evolution in this document. It also means the earlier "Reaper [base form] not yet supplied" gap note was based on an incorrect assumption that the base form would also be Mythic-tier β€” it isn't, and is captured here instead.)

Unit Passive

Adaptation This unit gains permanent Buffs after attacking different enemy types: For each enemy type attacked:

  • Increase Damage by 5%
  • Increase Critical Chance by 5%

(Identical passive to one of the three found on Reaper (Released) β€” the evolved form adds Critical Tempo and Mirage Swap on top of this, per its earlier entry.)

Obtainment

Spirit City Raid - Act 2 β€” Obtain Reaper by clearing Spirit City Raid Act 2 with a 5% chance of their dropping. Additionally there is a one-time pity of 20 completions.

(Matches exactly what was recorded on the Reaper (Released) page earlier β€” consistent, as expected now that we know these are the same base/evolved pair.)

Evolution

This looks like the upgrade-table note may be inherited/copy-pasted ahead of the ability actually being granted, or Mirage Step is only fully available post-evolution despite the note appearing on the base form's table too. Preserved exactly as shown rather than resolved.)

Trivia

  • Reaper is inspired by Ichigo Kurosaki from Bleach.

(Much shorter Trivia than Reaper (Released)'s extensive Tentoken/Adaptation/Mirage Swap/Shunpo breakdown β€” consistent with the general pattern of evolved forms carrying more detailed Trivia than their base forms.)

Ramen Guy

Ramen Guy is a Legendary unit released on July 17th, 2026, for the Release Update (0.0) of Anime Expeditions. Its core typings are Farm and Physical. It serves as one of the only Farm units in the game, able to generate income by condensing its earnings into a singular, more expensive Placement.

Stone Alchemist

Stone Alchemist is an Epic unit released on July 17th, 2026, for the Release Update (0.0) of Anime Expeditions. Its core typings are Farm and Physical. It serves as one of the only Farm units in the game, able to generate income by separating itself into 3 affordable Placements.

Demon Cyborg is an Epic unit released on July 17th, 2026, for the Release Update (0.0) of Anime Expeditions. Its core typings are Flame and Physical. Although it offers minimal damage as an Epic unit, this unit is able to inflict Burn on its attacks.

Placement Limit: 3

(No Unit Passive block shown, consistent with the rest of the Epic tier so far. Unlike Ice Mage, the typing row here shows only the usual TWO icons [Flame, Physical] despite the intro text making the same kind of "able to inflict [status]" claim [Burn here vs. Slow on Ice Mage]. Elements Hub Overview

Elements are a core mechanic of Units that categorize a unit and its damage into an "elemental" group. A unit's Element(s) may interact with stage mechanics like inherent stage buffs/debuffs and enemy weakness/resist. Elements are paired alongside Archetypes, serving as the primary factor in the partnership.

Elements in Game (9 total, per the hub page)

ElementDescription (as stated on hub)
HydroThis unit deals Hydro Element Damage.
GaleThis unit deals Gale Element Damage.
TerraThis unit deals Terra Element Damage.
FlameThis unit deals Flame Element Damage.
StormThis unit deals Storm Element Damage.
LightThis unit deals Light Element Damage.
DarkThis unit deals Dark Element Damage.
NeutralThis unit deals Neutral Element Damage.
FarmThis unit generates Yen every wave!

(IMPORTANT CROSS-REFERENCE to Units.md: this confirms "Farm" is an official Element β€” not an informal archetype/role label as originally speculated in Units.md when Ramen Guy and Stone Alchemist were documented. All other 8 Elements deal "[Element] Element Damage" using an identical sentence template; Farm is the sole outlier, with a non-damage, economy-focused description β€” consistent with Farm units like Ramen Guy and Stone Alchemist having Damage/SPA = 0 in their Attacks & Upgrades tables. This also means every documented unit's "core typings" line in Units.md [e.g. "Hydro and Magical"] is very likely one Element + one Archetype, confirming the two-axis theory from The Hero's page.)

Individual Element Pages

Hydro

Hydro is an Element added on July 17th, 2026, for the Release Update (0.0) of Anime Expeditions. In tandem with Archetypes, its primary purpose is to categorize large bodies of Units for the purpose of interacting with various game systems.

Gale

Gale is an Element added on July 17th, 2026, for the Release Update (0.0) of Anime Expeditions. In tandem with Archetypes, its primary purpose is to categorize large bodies of Units for the purpose of interacting with various game systems.

Terra

Terra is an Element added on July 17th, 2026, for the Release Update (0.0) of Anime Expeditions. In tandem with Archetypes, its primary purpose is to categorize large bodies of Units for the purpose of interacting with various game systems.

Largest Element roster documented so far, at 8 units.)

Storm

Storm is an Element added on July 17th, 2026, for the Release Update (0.0) of Anime Expeditions. In tandem with Archetypes, its primary purpose is to categorize large bodies of Units for the purpose of interacting with various game systems.

Storm Units (per the "Click to Expand" roster shown): Elf Mage, Elf Mage (Unleashed), Kid Assassin, Thunder Shinobi.

(MAJOR CROSS-REFERENCE FINDING, directly relevant to an open item in Units.md's Gaps/Pending: Units.md flagged a typing discrepancy on the Elf Mage line, where Elf Mage's own base page states "Storm and Magical" but Elf Mage (Unleashed)'s own page states "Light and Magical." This Storm Element page lists BOTH Elf Mage AND Elf Mage (Unleashed) in its unit roster β€” meaning the site's own Element-to-unit indexing categorizes Elf Mage (Unleashed) as Storm-typed, contradicting what's printed on Elf Mage (Unleashed)'s own unit page. This is evidence [not final proof] that the "Light and Magical" text on Elf Mage (Unleashed)'s own page is the erroneous one, and its true Element is Storm, matching its unchanged storm-themed passive kit already noted in Units.md. Kid Assassin and Thunder Shinobi both match their stated Rare-tier typings in Units.md without incident.)

Light

Light is an Element added on July 17th, 2026, for the Release Update (0.0) of Anime Expeditions. In tandem with Archetypes, its primary purpose is to categorize large bodies of Units for the purpose of interacting with various game systems.

(All 7 match their stated typings in Units.md: True Saint/True Saint (Holy) from the Exclusive tier, Puppet/Puppet (Telekinetic) from the Mythic tier, Reaper/Reaper (Released) confirming the cross-tier Legendary→Mythic evolution pair documented earlier, and Reishi Archer from the Rare tier. No discrepancies found on this roster, unlike Storm's.)

Dark

Dark is an Element added on July 17th, 2026, for the Release Update (0.0) of Anime Expeditions. In tandem with Archetypes, its primary purpose is to categorize large bodies of Units for the purpose of interacting with various game systems.

Ties Flame for the largest Element roster documented so far, at 8 units. No discrepancies found.)

Neutral

Neutral is an Element added on July 17th, 2026, for the Release Update (0.0) of Anime Expeditions. In tandem with Archetypes, its primary purpose is to categorize large bodies of Units for the purpose of interacting with various game systems.

Farm

Farm is an Element added on July 17th, 2026, for the Release Update (0.0) of Anime Expeditions. In tandem with Archetypes, its primary purpose is to categorize large bodies of Units for the purpose of interacting with various game systems.

No discrepancies found.)

Archetypes Hub Overview

Archetypes are a core mechanic of Units that categorize a unit and its damage into an "archetypal" group. A unit's Archetype(s) may interact with stage mechanics like inherent stage buffs/debuffs and enemy weakness/resist. Archetypes are paired alongside Elements, serving as the primary factor in the partnership.

Archetypes are designed to govern large bodies of units and provide a general way to limit buffs & debuffs. Physical and Magical, for example, have units that only buff a respective archetype. Additionally, Psychic is designed to be "neutral," always remaining undebuffed in stages but intentionally having no designated buffer(s).

Archetypes in Game (3 total, per the hub page)

ArchetypeDescription (as stated on hub)
PhysicalThis unit deals Physical Archetype Damage.
MagicalThis unit deals Magical Archetype Damage.
PsychicThis unit deals Psychic Archetype Damage.

(MAJOR RESOLUTION of the long-running two-axis typing theory from Units.md: this confirms every documented unit's "core typings" text is exactly ONE Element [from the 9 catalogued above] + ONE Archetype [from these 3]. The Hero and Forbidden Teacher's "no Element" wording now makes full sense β€” they simply have only an Archetype and no Element, which is why their typing rows showed a single icon instead of two. Both units are confirmed to appear in Archetype rosters below despite having no Element.)

Individual Archetype Pages

Physical

Physical is an Archetype added on July 17th, 2026, for the Release Update (0.0) of Anime Expeditions. In tandem with Elements, its primary purpose is to categorize large bodies of Units for the purpose of interacting with various game systems.

Mechanic Details

FieldValue

(The Hero appears here despite having "no Element" per its own Units.md page β€” confirming it still has an Archetype [Physical], consistent with the two-axis theory. All other units here match their stated "...and Physical" typings in Units.md.)

Magical

Magical is an Archetype added on July 17th, 2026, for the Release Update (0.0) of Anime Expeditions. In tandem with Elements, its primary purpose is to categorize large bodies of Units for the purpose of interacting with various game systems.

Mechanic Details

FieldValue

Magical Units (per the "Click to Expand" roster shown, 21 total): Shadow, Shadow (Divine), Crimson, Crimson (Brother), True Saint, True Saint (Holy), Elf Mage, Elf Mage (Unleashed), Flame Emperor, Flame Emperor (Reincarnate), Salmon Sorcerer, Salmon Sorcerer (Grade 1), String Demon, String Demon (Awakened), Forbidden Teacher, Ice Queen, Water Princess, Ice Mage, Kid Assassin, Reishi Archer, Thunder Shinobi.

(Forbidden Teacher appears here despite having "no Element" per its own Units.md page β€” confirming it still has an Archetype [Magical], the second such confirmation alongside The Hero/Physical above. All other units here match their stated "...and Magical" typings in Units.md, including both Elf Mage AND Elf Mage (Unleashed) β€” consistent regardless of the still-unresolved Storm-vs-Light Element question, since Archetype and Element are independent axes.)

Psychic

Psychic is an Archetype added on July 17th, 2026, for the Release Update (0.0) of Anime Expeditions. In tandem with Elements, its primary purpose is to categorize large bodies of Units for the purpose of interacting with various game systems.

Mechanic Details

FieldValue
NamePsychic
TypeMechanic
SubtypeArchetype

Psychic Units (per the "Click to Expand" roster shown, 3 total): Toy Maker, Puppet, Puppet (Telekinetic).

(By far the smallest Archetype roster β€” only 3 units total, all three of which are Dark or Light-Elemented per the Elements section above [Toy Maker=Dark, Puppet/Puppet (Telekinetic)=Light]. This is consistent with the hub's own description of Psychic as intentionally "neutral" with no designated buffer archetype β€” a much rarer, more specialized categorization than Physical or Magical.)

Archetypes β€” 3 of 3 documented. Archetypes tier complete.

(VERIFIED CROSS-CHECK: Physical [22] + Magical [21] + Psychic [3] = 46 unit-archetype entries, which exactly matches Units.md's total of 46 documented units β€” confirmed via grep -c "^### " = 48 minus 2 non-unit headers. Since every unit has exactly one Archetype [unlike Element, where 2 units have none], this is a clean 1:1 reconciliation with no leftover or missing units. This is strong confirmation that the Physical/Magical/Psychic Archetype axis is complete and fully accounted for.)

Traits Hub Overview

Traits are a core mechanic of the game that act as permanent modifications to any singular instance of a Unit. A Trait refers to a singular instance of this modification that is applied to a unit in any number of ways and will remain unless manually altered or removed. Traits occur only in singular instances and can only be replaced with another trait or the loss of a trait altogether. Once a specific trait instance is lost, it cannot be regained; all traits can be reobtained via a new instance if lost at any time.

How to obtain a Trait

Generally, to obtain a trait, you can exchange Trait Crystals at the Trait Reroll machine in the Upgrades area of the Lobby. Each reroll always costs 1 Trait Crystal. Additionally, traits can also be gained by:

  • Obtaining a unit that already had a trait applied (e.g., through Summoning).
    • The chance for a unit to come with a trait applied is 0.75%. Units obtained from Stages cannot have traits.
  • Temporarily (in-match) through gamemodes (e.g., Expeditions).

Trait List

Of the following traits, any can be obtained through the aforementioned methods. Traits have odds per trait after the initial trait check is rolled (like when rerolling or obtaining a unit), and Mythic traits have a pity attached to them; when reaching trait pity, the roll that hits the pity will replace the actual roll check with the pitied trait.

(The hub page itself doesn't explicitly label which traits are "Mythic," but the first 4 traits below are visually distinguished with animated gradient/rainbow-styled cards and are the only 4 with an explicit Pity value β€” strongly suggesting these are the "Mythic traits" referenced in the paragraph above. Preserved as an inference rather than a confirmed label; see Gaps/Pending.)

(Naming pattern observed: several traits come in numbered pairs representing two power tiers of the same base effect β€” Precision 1/2, Range 1/2, Speed 1/2, Strength 1/2 β€” where the "2" version is always a stronger, lower-rate version of the "1" version [e.g. Strength 1 = +5% DMG at 14.64% vs. Strength 2 = +10% DMG at 7%]. Investor, Optics, Bolt, Limit Breaker, and Enlightenment do not have numbered counterparts in this list.)

(SINGLE-USE MECHANIC NOTE: "Unbound" is the only trait in the entire list with a "Single Placement" clause bundled into its effect text β€” every other trait's effect list is a pure stat modification. Worth watching for what this restriction means in practice, since it's not explained further on this page.)

Effects Hub Overview

Effects, or Status Effects, are Unit mechanics that are attached to parts of unit "kits" (attacks, passives, etc.) that may activate in various conditions with various results. For example, most Effects are applied to enemies, and then carry their intrinsic mechanics (damage over time, crowd-control) as they take effect.

Effects may have durations, a "tick rate" to determine how fast an individual instance of the effect applies, scaling, and so forth. Each Status Effect is greatly unique, and even ones labelled with the same subtags function quite differently.

Effects make up a sizeable portion of every keyword you'd see in a Unit's passive. The rest that you might be looking for, as well as every other Mechanic that Units use, are in Mechanics. For mechanics that enemies use or are governed by, check Enemy Mechanics.

(Two more not-yet-supplied hub pages surfaced by this intro text alone: a general "Mechanics" page distinct from this Effects page, and a separate "Enemy Mechanics" page. Both are new open items β€” see Gaps/Pending.)

Effects in Game

The following is every Effect in the game.

Damage-over-Time

The following is every Damage-over-Time Effect in the game. These scale off the applying Unit's damage stat, the duration of an application, and how fast each tick of damage is inflicted on the enemy. Damage-over-Time effects can not stack on themselves by the same applier, but they can stack through separate appliers.

  • The damage applied by these effects first takes the unit's damage into account, multiplies it by the scaling (e.g. 0.5x of 10,000 is 5,000), then delivers it through ticks (e.g. 5 ticks, 1,000 damage per tick) over a specific duration by the tick rate (e.g. 5 seconds duration with 1 second tick rate is 1,000 damage per second for 5 seconds).

Bleed Appliers (per the "Click to Expand" roster shown): Crimson (Brother), Crimson, Cursed Student (True Love), Cursed Student, Greed, Bounty Hunter.

(MULTIPLE CROSS-REFERENCE FINDINGS against Units.md:

  • Crimson (Brother)'s own Units.md page already explicitly states "This unit inflicts Bleed on every attack" β€” fully consistent.
  • Cursed Student (True Love)'s own Units.md page already explicitly states "This unit inflicts Bleed on every attack," and its passive text contains the literal unrendered markup "{{Effect|Bleed}}" flagged as an anomaly in Units.md's Gaps/Pending. This Bleed page's existence CONFIRMS that markup was meant to be a working link to this very page β€” resolving that flagged mystery as a rendering bug, not a content error.
  • Crimson's own Units.md page (the base, pre-evolution form) does NOT mention Bleed anywhere in its documented intro or passive text β€” yet it appears here as a Bleed applier. New discrepancy, not previously flagged in Units.md.
  • Cursed Student's own Units.md page (base form) similarly does NOT mention Bleed β€” same new discrepancy as Crimson above. In both cases the EVOLVED form's page explicitly claims Bleed while the BASE form's page is silent on it, yet both base and evolved forms appear on this Bleed Appliers roster.
  • Greed's own Units.md page only documents one passive, "Fox Hunt" [+20% damage to Boss enemies] β€” no mention of Bleed anywhere. New discrepancy.
  • Bounty Hunter's own Units.md page was explicitly documented as having no Unit Passive block at all [consistent with the rest of the Epic tier] β€” yet it appears here as a Bleed applier. This is the strongest contradiction of the four: a unit confirmed to have zero passive text is nonetheless listed as inflicting a named Status Effect. See Gaps/Pending.)

Burn

Burn is a Status Effect added on July 17th, 2026, for the Release Update (0.0) of Anime Expeditions. It is under the Damage-over-Time subcategory, dealing a factor of applicant's damage in ticks over time.

Default Factorx0.5
Default Duration4 seconds
Default Ticks4 ticks

SubtypeDamage-over-Time

Burn Appliers (per the "Click to Expand" roster shown): Flame Emperor (Reincarnate), Flame Emperor, Demon Cyborg.

(Demon Cyborg's own Units.md page already explicitly states "this unit is able to inflict Burn on its attacks" β€” fully consistent, and the cleanest cross-reference match found so far in this document. Flame Emperor and Flame Emperor (Reincarnate) were not documented with explicit Burn-inflicting text in Units.md, but both are Flame-Elemented per Elements.md, so a Burn association is thematically unsurprising even without a direct textual match.)

Austere Flames

Austere Flames is a Status Effect added on July 17th, 2026, for the Release Update (0.0) of Anime Expeditions. It is under the Damage-over-Time subcategory, dealing a factor of applicant's damage in ticks over time.

FieldValue
FunctionDamage-over-Time

Default Factorx0.75
Default Duration4 seconds
Default Ticks4 ticks

SubtypeDamage-over-Time

Austere Flames Appliers (per the "Click to Expand" roster shown): Hollow (Blaze), Hollow.

(Notable: this is a stronger variant of Burn β€” same 4s/4-tick timing but a higher x0.75 factor vs. Burn's x0.5 β€” and it's exclusive to the Hollow line [both base and evolved form], rather than being a generic fire-themed effect shared across multiple unrelated units like Burn is. Neither Hollow's nor Hollow (Blaze)'s own Units.md pages mentioned Austere Flames or any DoT-inflicting text explicitly β€” new discrepancy, consistent with the pattern already seen on Bleed above where evolved-line units apply named Effects not mentioned on their own unit pages.)

Mana Burn

Mana Burn is a Status Effect added on July 17th, 2026, for the Release Update (0.0) of Anime Expeditions. It is under the Damage-over-Time subcategory, dealing a factor of applicant's damage in ticks over time.

FieldValue
FunctionDamage-over-Time

Default Factorx0.5
Default Duration8 seconds
Default Ticks8 ticks

FieldValue
NameMana Burn
TypeEffect
SubtypeDamage-over-Time

Mana Burn Appliers (per the "Click to Expand" roster shown): Elf Mage (Unleashed), Elf Mage.

(Longest duration/most ticks of the 4 documented Damage-over-Time effects, at 8s/8 ticks vs. 4-6s/4-6 ticks for the others β€” though at the same low x0.5 factor as Burn. Exclusive to the Elf Mage line [both base and evolved form], similar to how Austere Flames is exclusive to the Hollow line. Neither Elf Mage's nor Elf Mage (Unleashed)'s own Units.md pages mentioned Mana Burn explicitly.)
