1. Game Overview

Paint and Seek is a Roblox experience where players are assigned one of two roles: Hiders or Seekers.

• Hiders must survive until the round ends by blending into the environment.
• Seekers must locate and eliminate every Hider before time runs out.

The game's defining mechanic is its painting system, which allows players to camouflage themselves by matching the colors of the surrounding environment.

2. Painting System

Both Hiders and Seekers can paint their avatars.

The most effective way to camouflage is by using the painting pipette, located beneath the color palette, which copies the exact color of any nearby surface.

Although manual color selection is available, it is slower and usually less accurate than sampling colors directly from the environment.

The objective is to blend in so naturally that opponents overlook your character.

3. Essential Controls

Several abilities are available from the beginning and are fundamental to successful gameplay.

Lock Stand

Lock Stand freezes your avatar's body animation while still allowing camera movement. This prevents idle character animations from revealing your hiding spot.

Position Changes

After unlocking stance controls, you can change your character's pose by:

• Crouching
• T-posing
• Lying down

These poses help break the recognizable Roblox silhouette and improve camouflage.

Taunt

Hiders can press Q to taunt.

• Rewards 10 Coins
• 5-second cooldown
• Produces an audio cue that becomes louder as Seekers get closer

Use taunts carefully since the extra coins come at the cost of revealing your approximate location.

4. How a Match Works

A typical match follows this sequence:

1. Players are assigned as either Hiders or Seekers.
2. Hiders paint themselves and search for good hiding locations.
3. Seekers begin hunting across the map.
4. Hiders win by surviving until the timer expires.
5. Seekers win by eliminating every Hider.

If you're eliminated as a Hider, you can immediately return to the match as a Seeker and continue earning rewards.

For your first few games:

• Use the painting pipette instead of manually choosing colors.
• Match your surroundings as accurately as possible.
• Enable Lock Stand once you've chosen a hiding position.

Winning rounds—especially as a Hider—provides the highest Money and XP rewards, making survival your top priority during the early game.

Best Ways to Farm Money:

1. Win rounds — Especially as Hider (survive longest = more money). Winning as Hider gives the highest rewards.
2. Complete Quests — Tracked in the top right. Refresh periodically. Easy objectives like playing a certain number of rounds or with specific player counts. Reward hefty sums.
3. Lobby Obby — Easy obby in the lobby (takes ~15 seconds). Rewards 20 coins. 5-minute cooldown.
4. Watch Ads — Rewards 67 coins per ad (30 seconds).
5. Taunting (Hiders) — Press Q for 10 coins per taunt (risky due to audio alert).
6. Re-join as Seeker — After being found as Hider, switch to Seeker role in the same game to hunt remaining players and earn more.

Maximize Earnings:

• Combine winning/surviving with quests, obby, and ads during downtime.
• VIP gamepass offers double XP and coins.

Maps and Hiding Locations

Different maps offer unique camouflage opportunities:

• Backrooms: Yellow walls for excellent blending.
• Island: Grey cliffside areas.

Roles: Hider vs Seeker

Hider

• Objective: Survive the round by blending in and hiding.

Seeker

• Objective: Find and eliminate all Hiders.
